Natural Sciences are one area of academia that alluded me throughout my entire public and higher education experience. So, I honestly can't form a real stance one way or the other. My gut tells me that mountain top removal, fracking, dirty energy, pollution, deforestation, and the countless other things we do as a society can't be good and that we are killing our planet. But again, I have no research or evidence to back that up. My brother in law has a PHD in Chemical Engineering and is the most intelligent person I know, so I put a lot of merit in his opinions. He and I were talking about climate change at one time and he also said that he, as a scientist, can't buy into it just yet because there isn't enough concrete evidence that to prove or disprove it's existence.dsheinem wrote:you guys kid him, but the fact is the science isn't really in on climate change and what science there is was funded by environmentalists, liberals, and/or helped professors get cushy tenure jobs through shared peer agreement.
Common sense says feed the poor, don't pour money into "researching" an unpredictable and unprovable future.
I agree with you, OP. It still strangely DOES feel like fall in the fall, so fuck the haters.

Don't you hate that when you say something so ludicrous or out of character that you leave off the blue and can't believe it's taken seriously anyway?dsheinem wrote:hmm, I'm starting to wonder if I really DID need the blue text...

It seemed pretty obvious, but of course not everything translates well into text. I'm pretty sure most people knew it was blue incognito. It happens to me all the time, however lately I think I should make my standard text blue and just change it to black when I actually post something serious.Hobie-wan wrote:Don't you hate that when you say something so ludicrous or out of character that you leave off the blue and can't believe it's taken seriously anyway?dsheinem wrote:hmm, I'm starting to wonder if I really DID need the blue text...
I've been on the white man's lean (nyquil) quite a bit.

The problem is that the part about feeding the poor WAS in character for you.dsheinem wrote:hmm, I'm starting to wonder if I really DID need the blue text...

I actually see the long-term feeding of everyone (including the poor) as part of what stuff like "going green" in response to climate change hopes to accomplish...MrPopo wrote:The problem is that the part about feeding the poor WAS in character for you.dsheinem wrote:hmm, I'm starting to wonder if I really DID need the blue text...
