Ah, cool beans. It's still a mind blowing setup and completely changes what can be done with the FPS genre.

Titanic Honor and Glory is exactly what kind of game the Rift is perfect for.

I am looking forward to when this technology has reached a comfortable plateau, price wise, and support wise. I am totally down with buying a nice VR headset for $100-150, with a bevy of PC games that support it. I'm most interested in what independent developers will do with the technology. I think for now I will try out Google Cardboard with whatever cool apps are available on Google Play, just to get a taste of the fun.

We certainly hope so. That is an old build, too. We're not even close to being done. When everything is finished, Half Life 2 VR will be a full body VR experience - support for omnidirectional treadmills, haptic feedback vest support, and 5 independently tracked points on your body + head.

I have a quick question about current design with the gloves he uses. With the suit, your HUD appears on the back of your hands, and weapons you hold appear there. It looked like his hand appeared in the training video once he grabbed the suit, so if you pick up an object like a can or bottle, does it appear to be in your hand? What if you are holding a weapon? And also, do the hands only appear once you grab your suit, or are they always there in the opening section when you get off the train?

If you pick up an object, it appears in your hand. We've made it so your hands always appear, they're floating gloves.

This is what happens when you use a weapon:

Sonic, what is your control method? Do you use a Razor Hydra, some sort of magic glove, or just a controller?

The times I have used it I used a wiimote and joystick and that worked great for things that were not games...

We currently support Razer Hydras and Steam Controllers, but we will eventually support the Sixense STEM, PrioVR, Virtuix Omni, and Cyberith Virtualizer. Possibly ControlVR as well.

That's called Gear VR. It will be in stores by the end of the month.
Related to this, I want to go to augmented reality raves where everyone wears a green suit and a VR headset with mounted cameras. Inside the display, avatar costumes are laid over the green suits and music visualizers dance through the air in time with the DJs music.
