How about giving a bit back to the community by nominating a game or 2 (or 3) for the steam curator group then? (yes, I'm not giving up  )

I am tired of hearing about Destiny. Tired of reading about it on forums, tired of seeing it in video game news blogs. I've read reviews and watched videos and the game just looks boring as hell to me. I honestly do not understand the appeal. A dude at my job told me he had over 250 hours logged into this game! I don't understand it. If I had an XONE right now I'd be playing Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments or Sunset Overdrive or even Lords of the Fallen... but not Destiny.

So if it's unpopular to say Destiny looks like soulless joyless marketing ploy Halo-clone shlock I'm saying it.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Doesn't look like my type of game either. But I don't find most AAA titles to be very compelling.

250 hours in one game is insane! I doubt I've even hit that in an MMO.

Do you just not play them? I have over 18,000 hours on my main FFXI character. Granted, that includes a fair bit of AFK/ish time, but still. Adds up.

Wha???? No way. That's two years!

I have played MMOs occasionally. Final Fantasy XI is one of them. Wasn't crazy about it.

I typically don't like it when games take over 40 hours to complete, and I only play video games for an average to 1-2 hours on a good day.

18,000 hours.

It's funny you say that, because a large amount of the appeal people find in Destiny is the fact that it has MMORPG like elements.

It's got raid dungeons where large groups of players have to get together to beat tough bosses, random loot drops that are incredibly rare and require multiple runs of the same dungeon over and over to eventually get, countless fetch quests, and after level 20 you have to do daily quests over and over to grind for the experience and equipment needed to reach the max level (Which I believe is 30).

Damn, I'm kinda drooling just thinking about it. Wanna get me a PS4 even more now.

The repetitive nature of many games, especially a lot of MMOs and RPGs are the most discouraging qualities in games. I feel like they need to remove those all together. It is a cheap way to create, "replayability," and is really just padding. What makes a game worthwhile is by creating layers of detail that, with longer playtime or numerous play-throughs uncover more details.

For a single player game yes. Some of it isn't that repetitive as the appeal is playing with your friends. If this stuff wasnt there, people would complain of not enough content.
