And while I would love to have one, no price or release date makes me think itll go the way of all the other neat products I want and never materialize. A simple writing device that has weeks of battery life, no distractions, and a screen visible at all times, sounds like heaven to me. Something like a Alphasmart doesnt work for me anymore.
I have a typewriter. I just dont like lugging it around since it is heavy, and has such a burden of stuff to carry with it to make it work. With this, I could carry it in a backpack and take it when I go hiking along with my camera. I use to do this with my palm pilot, a folding keyboard, and a hood to cover the screen from glare. But those days are long gone.

Over the last few years I have a developed a major problem with distractions when writing. So while my EEE 900a use to be my constant companion for writing, so much so that I had to replace its keyboard three times, the fact that it can play games and/or music makes it hard for me to use. Yes it is a silly mental block, but one that alot of people have.

I'm sure this must have been posted some where already, but... Red Bull.
They're apparently paying out a settlement because A) It's not an energy drink, it's just Soda. And B) They made false claims that it would give you wings.
I find the entire thing to just be ridiculous. If the law defines what criteria a drink needs to meet to be called an "energy" drink rather than just a soda or soft drink, and some one fails to meet that criteria while claiming that it IS an energy drink, then by all means it's false advertisement or whatever. But whatever.
Claiming that it gives you wings when it really doesn't is fucked up though.
It does, in fact, figuratively give you wings. If you're stupid enough to think that it actually gives you wings, then you have other problems and shouldn't worry about a company that mislead you into buying their product.
Any one remember the Kool Aid Burst commercials in the early/mid 90's? In the commercials, any time some one cracked one open, cartoon letters "BURST!" would pop out of the bottle and every one in the vicinity would be perfectly amazed. The commercial definitely hyped my little mind, and I needed some of that magic. I remember the first time I cracked one open. It was a rather dull moment compared to what happens in the commercial. I remember actually being disappointed that a party didn't start up or the BURST letters didn't pop out of the bottle or something. AFAIK, no one ever sued Kool Aid over it. Come do think of it (I'm totally just ranting now) remember the "cap" that you'd pop off the top of the bottle? It was a sort of boomerang shape. I use to love to keep those things in my mouth, and I'm surprised I never choked on one. I don't ever recall a "Warning: Small parts, choking hazard" any where on Kool Aid Burst products.
