I'm still waiting on getting some third party stuff on the cheap. I want the two Assassins Creed games and Black Ops II. I want a b2g1 free sale or something.

Sorry about the double post.BananaXX wrote:That is a good question. As far as I can tell it looks like this is just the original with some Wii U specific features like playing on the Gamepad screen. Has anyone heard differently?retrosportsgamer wrote:This will be an interesting comparison to it's PS4 and XBO brethren. I'd imagine they could do some neat things with the gamepad. Is there any additional content that is included with this port (like some of the DLC)?
But anyway: no DLC is included and no DLC will be planed for the game. Just the vanilla release with no expansion in the future. It was confirmed on Destructoid.

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
According to Nintendo UK the GameCube adapter will allow controllers to also work with any Classic Controller or Wii U Pro Controller compatible games.
As stated here: http://store.nintendo.co.uk/wii-u-acces ... 28551.html
Now, I'm wondering if the Hori and Pelican controllers are compatible.
Update: RATS! Rebutted. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/10/08/ ... smash-bros

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
First off: Was it just IMPOSSIBLE for Nintendo to make a USB device that would allow the U console to see it as a Pro Controller? That way, any game that's compatible with the Pro Controller would automatically be compatible with the GCN USB adapter. That's what they should have done.
Secondly: So it will only be compatible with Smash Bros. Well can't Nintendo patch a game to support it? Knowing they wouldn't want to make a patch for each individual game that would need it... Can't they just release a console update that would make the USB adapter compatible in place of the Pro Controller?

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
From a technical standpoint, there's no reason why they couldn't push the controller code into the system end opening it up for basic compatibility with everything. (If I can conceptualize how to do it, I would imagine they've already tried it.)Ziggy587 wrote:Can't they just release a console update that would make the USB adapter compatible in place of the Pro Controller?
I think the reason why they might not want to do that, and would instead require games to explicitly utilize the adapter is Nintendo seems to have an issue if things aren't 100% compatible in a lot of cases.
The GameCube controller is missing three signals that the Wii U standard controllers have, ZL (OR ZR, whichever you count as Z), and both of the stick clicks. I'm guessing they didn't make it generically compatible because any game that utilizes those inputs wouldn't function correctly with this setup. So, they opt for explicit support. It could cause hindrances when playing many games that don't require those inputs, due to the difference in the face button orientation. And, when it comes to core player interaction with the hardware, Nintendo is an overprotective hen, for sure.
However, that's a stupid thing to do, because the benefits for the player outweigh the potential negatives. For every game that wouldn't function correctly, there's like 10 that would, and they could be given that ability for zero cost to the developers of that individual title.
Though, I don't think its hopeless. I think if enough people really want it, they would patch in basic GCN support for the system. Unless they're doing something super wonky, but they probably aren't.
It wouldn't be the first time on Wii U Nintendo has changed their stance on something and gave additional ability.
I would hope that at the very least, this was also compatible with Wii mode.
