So what have you guys been watching lately?

I loved that show so much, I really wish it would have stayed on.
My Name Is Earl would have (and could) made for a fantastic animated series or comic.

The characters are indeed caricatures. The plots silly and perfect for the medium. Totally a shame Earl is no more.

Gave up on SHIELD quite some time ago. Never gave it much of a chance though. Four or five episodes and I gave up.

Anyone else watch Star Wars Rebels? That Carrie Beck sure is something.
I'll be honest, the first half of the season was pretty meh; it was mostly setting up the characters and the world. Then as things got close to when The Winter Soldier came out things picked up a lot of steam. The second season is now all about how things progress now that SHIELD is formally disbanded as a government entity and Hydra is out of the shadows.

I caught last night's episode of Shield. It has indeed improved. The finale last weekend was week, but overall the Cap 2 story made the show better. Do I take it seriously or call it must watch tv? No, but it's fun and has at least half a brain now. Looks like they upped the budget too...

I saw the last 15 minutes of The Flash. It was sort of like watching a Flash show on the CW.

If you're at all invested in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then yes.

I just recently finished Peep Show on Netflix (which was amazing)
Now i'm going through The Office (which I embarrassingly never watched), which is also amazing
Do I even need to mention how excited I am for the return of Twin Peaks? Fffuuu

I understand the appeal of Twin Peaks during the early 90s, when tv was a wasteland for dramas, but I don't get the appeal now. I guess I'm just more into story than random weirdness, which Twin Peaks and American Horror Story have in common. Just a continual build of absurd situations that never really go anywhere.

Never got the appeal. Never liked two and a half men, so maybe sitcoms just aren't my thing.
For some odd reason i'm the same way...things like "Friends", "George Lopez" and "The Nanny" i can stand but these modern sitcoms....nope. It may be just me but it's like they try way too hard to be funny.
I'm always amazed at the irony of nerds and geeks not getting The Big Bang Theory. The show if funny to me because I've known people like that in real life. Granted the show's characters are exaggerated as are most great sitcom characters (the characters in Married with Children come to mind) , but yeah, lot of nerds in the real world are like those guys.

And while the show pokes fun at nerds, it's also clearly written to appeal to them with lots of geeky references and shout outs, mixed with broader comedy for the casual audience. A formula that equals massive ratings.

I think it simply has to do with the fact that both of those shows are terrible.

My parents both thoroughly enjoy Big Bang Theory. It makes me often dread going over to their house to eat dinner because it's always conveniently on while we eat. I can't stand that show. Leave it to the TBS sitcoms to make you want to peel your own skin off.
