Shit I didn't even know that there were allegations of rape against him! I can't find if anything happened from the allegations or not.

Not that it changes my opinion of him really. I guess if I ever met him I wouldn't take any pills he offered me or allow anyone else too.

You're in your first semester and chances are you're completing liberal studies / general studies. They're usually built into your curriculum so you have some time to explore majors here and there during your first year. As for your department, it sounds like there's an emphasis on networking and building a cohort. It's helpful, especially for first year students to aid in retention at most universities. I wouldn't knock it, even if it's not your cup of tea.

Actually, the department is big on you starting major classes immediately, I only got to choose two classes that weren't assigned to me, and both of those are core classes for the major, not general studies core stuff. I don't know about other majors, but very little general studies is required here, and I have English and Biology out of the way already.

The networking thing is campus wide here. Huge thing they emphasize. I understand why, but I'm just not the type of person who does that. Not being in a dorm has to do with it, but a lot of people have already made friend groups or already knew people, and I'm stuck all by my lonesome most of the time. I'm not worried about myself staying at the university though, I don't have a choice but to stay.
