Oh, I do that just to annoy you, and so you know if ever we have to turn on each other, you'll never hear me coming.

Playing Alien: Isolation is like trying to escape from me.

So one more question: how much does the PC port take advantage of high end PC hardware?

Specifically, is it just going to give me super-high FPS rates or does the PC version have a lot of high res features or effects that are only possible on PCs (that are noticeably lacking on the consoles)? If the uptick in quality is negligible, I'll probably use that Xbox credit to give me an excuse to turn on the One...

You automatically get to use a keyboard and mouse in a first person game. Beyond that, no idea.

Some people prefer playing with mittens on, for some reason.

Yes, it does. In addition to having higher resolution textures, and additional particle and graphical effects, it also can run at higher resolutions, and, where the console versions are limited to 30 FPS, people with even decent GPUs are getting like 200 FPS.

Beyond that, people have just figured out how to re-enable native oculus rift support:

Just a few ini changes and command line options. So fucking awesome.

Some footage from my cell phone:

forgive the extreme guerrilla style footage. the fade to black is because I'm going out of camera range due to me holding this in my hands instead of on my head. Forgive the lack of action, I was controlling movement with my big toe lol. Nothing scary in the videos, BTW, it's the very beginning.

I don't have much impetus to play Alien: Isolation*, but I love the cover art:

Could have been a sexed up female astronaut in vinyl butt pants, pointing a gun behind herself towards attacking aliens. Instead we got something actually tasteful.

*Although playing it via VR would definitely be interesting.

I've been watching streams of this the past few days. Would like to play it, but I've got stuff to grind out in a MMO. Still, watching streams is pretty satisfying. I really like what I see, for the most part. There is a very extended portion of just you vs androids that seemed a bit less enjoyable.

There should be more biathlon themed games.

Some friends and I are doing a live stream of Alien Isolation tonight at 8pm CST, dual streams. One of the output from our oculus rift, one of a webcam fixed to our face for reaction shots. We'll be broadcasting through twitch, through this channel:

If anybody wants to watch us shit our pants, feel free!
