When does global warming actually show up in real life?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Common sense says feed the poor, don't pour money into "researching" an unpredictable and unprovable future.

I agree with you, OP. It still strangely DOES feel like fall in the fall, so fuck the haters.
If you feed the poor they're just going to come back the next day asking for more. It's a hole with no bottom. But enough money spent on climate change might eventually give us the weather machine.

Also, aren't you a liberal professor working on getting tenure? Or did you get passed over, so now you're turning against your brethren?

The climate's been so crazy you guys say it's autumn, but spring has just started in my town.

Well just because your toilets spin the wrong direction doesn't mean climate change is real.

I got tenure, d00d.

Enjoying a nice Pumpkin Spice Latte, too, given that it is clearly FALL.

I wish it was fall here. It was 80 yesterday. It's supposed to be grey and overcast and maybe a bit rainy. I suffered through several months of clear sunshine; I want my cool weather back.

In fairness I am using them to study global warming. When the room they are in corresponds to the temperature of the air outside the house and the machines are off, equilibrium of temperature is reached. There's a lesson in that for all of us, I think.
