This is officially my favorite 3d Zelda game
So wait...did you actually find a modern game that you enjoy now? Not trying to be rude but this seems like the first time I've read about a modern game you've played and liked...
Well, it's a Dynasty Warriors reskin, so it's not really a modern game. It's just a game that came out recently.

What?

Borderlands 2 stuff - The Headhunter missions are actually fun, though severely lower in level than I am at this point. Oh well, it's worth doing for the heads and the little experience I get in the process, plus the continued jokes and humor of the series. Like Brick's tuxedo shirt. I have all five Headhunters but have only beaten three of them(out of order too. I did 1, 2, and 5. And 2 has a Raid quest involving listening to Mr. Torgue's grandmother. Fun), but I plan to go back and wrap up the other two soon. They're nice little side stuff that's short, and they're worth picking up on discount, when they're under $1 apiece. So far, T.K. Baha's has been the biggest chore to do, but since it was the first, I can forgive it.

But more importantly, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty is a fully fleshed out DLC, complete with a variety of locales, quests, items, enemies, a hideous NPC based on Hunter S. Thompson, big bosses, and treasure! Plus the greatest vehicle in the game. Why can't I have my sand skiff all the time? So I blazed through this DLC but will have to go back to finish searching everywhere and do the few remaining sidequests, as well as beat the two raid bosses at some point, though I'll have to gain about 12 levels before I go for those. It's a fun add on to the Borderlands universe, though at times the NPCs come off as way too heavily fixated on sex, moreso than the base game. I'm moving on to the Badass Crater of Badassitude in Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage now and have a good chunk of that done too, so hopefully I'll have that finished.

And then there is Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, an edutainment game based on the Thomas the Tank Engine property. The game operates as a series of minigames to play as Thomas moves around a rectangular track. There's also differing difficulty levels based on the age of the player, with the highest being for 8 year olds and up, though I doubt an 8 year old will have too much trouble with it. Also, one of the games requires some creative thinking with a track layout that I actually found kind of cool to experiment with, and another of the games involves reading a Thomas story and then answering questions about it, which might be fun to kids who are fans. Is Thomas the Tank Engine still popular with children? I don't know. I only know that I found this better than the Mario's Early Years games, though not as fun as Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, easily my favorite of the SNES edutainment library.

Yes. The series is very, very popular with the toddler set. That game is rubbish, however, and my kids hated it. (I think that they are spoiled by much, much better iPad edutainment apps.)

Not surprising. I expect there's way better edutainment stuff out there now. The SNES edutainment library is pretty limited, and a lot of it is poorly handled...but don't say anything about about Carmen Sandiego. Ever.

IDK if I've mentioned this but some time ago I beat Sonic Colors for the Wii.

Didn't get all the Red Star Rings or get S on all the levels.

Espgaluda "Bug Princess" was a 1cc on Normal difficulty. Nice port on the iPad. Hard Corps was a many-credit run with my kindergartener on the Retron 5. We had fun.

Destiny continues to eat up most of my available gaming time. I suspect that will stop soonish...at least until the new Borderlands comes out.
