are you using the Lite or Original. The Lite has the buttons mashed together and although I dont have huge hands its still annoying.RemyC wrote:Hahahaha. I mean when i only want to press one. Say that i want to accelerate, ill be pushing the brake as well. I cant find a way to position my fingers nicely.ThunderPrince wrote:god forbid you actually have to press buttons to play a game.RemyC wrote:I tried playing my little sisters DS, she has, mario kart. I find it almost unplayable. Im always pushing two buttons at once.
and I was never a fan of the DS Lite design, everything about it feels too small and cheap compared to the first model.

This is the first I've heard of people preferring the original to the lite. Is it just the button size that bothers you? I heard that the screens on the Lite were much nicer than those on the original.

the screens are nicer but I cant stand the buttons (they feel mushy) and my fingers arent big but my palms are massive (i have spider hands if you will) and that presents a problem w/ the light. They also get beat up alot more than an original. Thats why I cant stand the lite. Otherwise, its fine, im looking at the DSi a bit but homebrew will probably be alot less accessible. Besides, I always like having the original design of handhelds/consoles etc.Hatta wrote:This is the first I've heard of people preferring the original to the lite. Ryan I agree with you on this as the DS Lite seems way to small at least for my massive hands. I can only play it for a little while before my hands start to cramp up. I definitely need to look into getting an original Nintendo DS model that's for sure, as the library for the system is great and growing.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:the screens are nicer but I cant stand the buttons (they feel mushy) and my fingers arent big but my palms are massive (i have spider hands if you will) and that presents a problem w/ the light. The lite has a sharper screen, but when your dealing with DS games sharper isn't always better. CG scenes look worse on the lite, and low res polys sometimes look shitty on the sharper screen. I look at the original DS as beer goggles for the PS1 quality graphics. And the DS lite is what the game looks like in the morning after playing it all night.

i only wish the original DS's screen was a tad bit brighter, not super bright, but mabe between the low and mid levels of the original PSPcorn619 wrote:The lite has a sharper screen, but when your dealing with DS games sharper isn't always better. I've never had a problem with either version of the DS. You guys must have fat fingers. Maybe you should spend less time gaming and more time outside...
