Isolation is the best Alien game I’ve ever played, I’m in no doubt about that. Even in its awkward moments it is doing something interesting with the license, exploring the edges of what is possible in its world, quietly and discreetly.

I don't get this a lot of people online are saying that the reviews are middling but the game is getting good scores from everywhere except polygon, ign and gamespot.

I dont think Gametrailers gave it a great score either, maybe 7ish.


I think it is fair to say that the game is critically acclaimed though. Certainly worth checking out.

Even Polygon's most damning point was that the game lasts long enough that it potentially lowers the emotional impact of the alien coming to get you. If that's the worst thing I'm looking forward to it (and from the demo I played at PAX it seems awesome).

This just unlocked a whole day early on steam. I'm going to be doing a live stream of this game either tomorrow or (most likely) wednesday with me playing the thing using an Oculus Rift and VorpX.
