Together Retro: I Have No Mouth... & The Typing of the Dead

Post by dsheinem »

The front page post should be up soon, but we can start discussing this year's double bill now...

Who's planning on playing one of the titles? Both?

I hope to start up with I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream in the next couple of days, and will spend some time with The Typing of the Dead Overkill later this month (I already beat the original earlier this year). Both games are relatively short (around 5 hours each on average), so getting to both of them shouldn't be too hard.

I'll be playing both. I'm actually really excited for TR this month, which hasn't really been the case in a while.

I just played Typing of the Dead last month for fun, but didn't finish it. In the spirit of October I may play it again with the intention of completing it.

My brothers couldn't stop laughing at how absurd it was. I love introducing this game to people just to see the look on their faces.

I'll be trying to tackle both.

I need to get a keyboard for my Dreamcast.

He may not care for typing games though.

That said, it's an interesting enough novelty to at least check out.

I bought IHNM when GOG had it on sale earlier this year exclusively for this. Nothing like old school DOS goodness.

I have TOTD for DC and I completed the Original mode a couple years ago, getting all 30 coins and unlocking the unlimited Golden Hands. It doesn't mean I can't still play it for a better score/performance. Check it out if you haven't already.

You guys can't play IHNM without the official 3D mousepad. It's a lessened experience.
