the laws of irony will keep Forlorn Drifter hilarious for a good long while if your moods aren't congruent with the name in a literal sense. maybe change your avatar to Gallagher or something.Forlorn Drifter wrote:Too long.![]()
I'm looking for something other than Forlorn Drifter though, because that's just too depressing for my moods now. I have no idea what though. I want it to be both serious and funny, as much sense as that makes. I was thinking something western/country sounding, but all I've got so far is Crazy Coyote and that doesn't sound too good.

Actually truth be told, the best taco I ever ate was made for me by a bunch of Mexican construction workers who were cooking them up on their lunch break. That was some good stuff.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
We have a great authentic place where we're the only gringo diners. Beef tongue tacos are tops.
I should have brought this up over the weekend, but here ya go:
On Saturday my wife and I took our dog Ripley for a walk and some kids were selling lemonade. Decent sized cups, but at a buck a piece. That made me a bit happy as I thought, "awesome, real lemonade".
So I asked "real lemons?" and got the reply "Kool-Aid!".
I politely told them no thanks, and good luck.
Kids would've broken even after selling two cups, assuming they purchased the sugar and packet of mix.

I'd have given them a dollar if they had responded to your "real lemons?" with "Are they made from real Girl Scouts?"Luke wrote:We have a great authentic place where we're the only gringo diners. Beef tongue tacos are tops.

Me too.Ack wrote: I'd have given them a dollar if they had responded to your "real lemons?" with "Are they made from real Girl Scouts?"
It was probably a year ago that my wife and I were riding bikes and stopped by a kid's booth that clearly stated "Kool-Aid! Twenty Five Cents!". (could have been less)
Asked the two kids "any good?", to which they responded "Not enough sugar!".
"Perfect!" I said, and gave them a five dollar bill.
The looks on their faces was totally worth it. The boy displayed the bill to his Sister and they both proceeded to flip out. Well, they didn't actually do flips, but they did jump.

I know just how you feel.
I went out for a nice brisk walk with my wife and kids on a breezy Sunday afternoon. Well, as you can imagine we grew famished. Right about the time I thought we were going to have to go home and make some peanut butter for sandwiches (with real peanuts too!), we whipped around the corner and a small shack had been erected from heart pine. Adorned across the rustic leather awning these children had scrawled in beautiful calligraphy "Fresh Hot Dogs!" underneath it had the prices listed in a more simple script $2.00 for plain and $2.25 with toppings.
I walked up to the young tow headed boy who was working the counter and just as he greeted me with a smile and got "What ca", I interrupted him because as I'm sure you can understand I was famished and had no time for pleasantries. "Made with real dogs?" I inquired. "Ewww, nope...we use beef." was his reply with a look as though I had alleviated my bowels in his presence. "Well" Said I raising one finger in the air to wave slowly "No cow dogs for me, good morrow Sir!".
We all gasped, exasperated and starving as we walked sullenly back home to our warm home baked loaves of french bread and went to toiling away at our peanut butter. It wasn't funny at the time, but we have learned to look back on the day and laugh.
