I don't mind the loot cave being patched out but I'm not too happy they've taken away the shards you get from dismantling the Queen's gear. After doing three Queen's missions and receiving three identical chest pieces I kind of expect to get at the very least two measly shards as recompense. I get that it can be farmed easily but honestly, so what? If I want to farm, let me.

The queen's mission is kind of bullshit to begin with: of the three runs one was the very first mission in the game and was a piece of piss, one was the last mission and was really hard and one was a Mars mission with some ludicrous mutators that made me ineffective against all the enemies. It's also annoying how you can have a fully souped up Legendary weapon but if you're just slightly underleveled you'll do minimal damage.

Double post but another patch is on the way next week to rejig the Cryptarch and engrams.
Bungie wrote:The 1.0.2 patch will go live next week, and includes several changes to the Cryptarch and Engram experience. These changes guarantee that Engrams will always decode into items at or above the quality of an engram.

Only Engrams that drop after 1.0.2 are subject to this change.

Cryptarch Changes
Cayde-6 took the Cryptarch aside and showed him a sack of doorknobs. He decoded that mystery pretty quickly.
Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including Materials or Exotics
Rare Engrams will always produce Rare or better quality items
Rare engrams will have an increased chance to produce Legendary quality items

Activity Changes
Daily Heroics, Weekly Heroics, and Vanguard: Tiger Playlist activities will include Rare and Legendary Engrams in addition to their existing rewards

Item Changes
Ascendant materials have been promoted to Legendary to closer associate them with the gear they are used to upgrade
Legendary Engram items that exist in your inventory will be demoted to Rare quality when the patch goes live, so decode them while you can. But let’s be honest--even if you don’t, we all know they were blues already...
Nice they have a sense of humour about it though like a few other things with the game, it's surprising they didn't see a backlash coming. But they are listening so that is super cool IMO. 8)

I do okay in the PvP but it's three marks for a win and two for a loss no matter where you finish in the team so don't worry about it. My advice is to grab an auto rifle and a shotgun and go mad. At least until the AR's are nerfed with the next patch.

And be Zen. Always be Zen.

It's funny, the people who seem most concerned by Destiny's story are people who haven't played Destiny.

Like most games/consoles, the most vocal haters have not played them.
