I finished up Super Paper Mario this weekend so I booted up Mario Strikers Charged for a change of pace; I'm going through a Wii stage apparently. Man, this game gets silly difficult after the first cup. I'm not sure I'm willing to put in the time to get better at this game as that really wasn't what I was going for in choosing a Mario soccer game.
Anyone else ever play this? It is fun but damn, the difficulty spike seems a little steep.
What are you playing?

The difficulty spike is pretty tough. The third cup is insanely hard, I've never beaten it.
I love the game though, so much fun. My preferred team is the 2nd secret character )not really that secret, but I'll keep it hidden just in case), 2 dry bones and either a Boo or Monty Mole.

Sadly no console gaming right now. My Wii erased my Skyward Sword save when I was about 3/4s of the way through it, so I have put it in time out. Luckily pinball has come to my rescue so:
Phone:
Pinball Arcade - Dr Dude, since it is free until Wednesday then I get Elvira for a month
Chuchu Rocket - Extra 10 is not my friend
PC:
Visual Pinball - Dr Who
Pinball Arcade - Theatre of Magic
Borderlands 2 - with Noise, Ack, and Xen
Talisman
Mercenary Kings - when I need to kill lots of things in a short time.

Re: What are you playing?
Pacman CE is just amazing. One of the best games I've played in a really long time and practically all I've played this year are classics.
I discovered this crazy way to shave one or two seconds on my runs and it has thrown all the strategies I had developed for the game. There's so much creativity and room from improvement in the level design, what ghosts you get close to and which ones you ignore and it's all done without any random element, every map will play exactly the same if you keep a fixed pattern. The game goes so fast that saving a third of a second feels incredibly satisfying because so much happens in that time. And the better you are, the denser the experience.
And it just has so much raw appeal! I can't imagine anyone disliking this game after playing it. It doesn't matter what kind of gamer you are, it just sucks you in.
Can't recommend it enough, hope to review it soon.

Re: What are you playing?
I will be finishing up Donkey Kong Country Returns fairly soon. I have mixed feelings on it. On the one hand, the platforming is just spectacular. The levels are perfectly challenging and the game handles wonderfully. On the other hand, the game's design is a bit generic (i.e., everything but the music personality), and I feel that I am playing as Mario in a monkey suit.
Re: What are you playing?
That makes me wonder why they haven't given Mario a DK suit in a game yet.

Playing D4 on the Xbox One. Other than the art style and vivid characters I'm not really feeling this. Has a lot of pointless "move the joystick to turn the door knob" actions like in Indigo Prophecy, etc. The voice work is sometimes good, sometimes Shenmue. Also the price is too high ($14.99) for a game that's 2.5-3 hours long. I knew that going in and gave it a shot just for something different, but if the story doesn't wow me before the end I don't think I'll be buying the forthcoming episodes, and certainly not at that price.
Side note: This will be my first ever video review! Probably 3 months from now when I actually learn the editing software and no one cares about the game anymore, but it's something lol
