How about a good shooter for PSP? Is Platypus any good?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

How about a good shooter for PSP? Is Platypus any good?

Post by Scooter »

I don't yet have a shooter for my PSP. I'm not a huge shoot fan, but I have at least one or two for every system I have. I saw a game called Platypus for my PSP which looked like a bit of fun. I don't know much about it other than the box art and info.

I tried the iphone port and its really....different. Everything is in claymation so the unique look is half the catch. The iphone build played well andwas fun. I'm planning on buying it myself soon.

I'd go with the Gradius Collection.

I second Gradius collection, great little compilation which should keep you going for a while. Otherwise Everyday Shooter and Super Stardust seem like good options.

I'd reccomend Sengoku Cannon, while not as good as the Saturn or Arcade versions it's still a great fuedal Japan themed horizontal shooter and well worth your time.

If you don't mind importing, I highly recommend the Parodius collection. It's one of the only reasons I wish I had a PSP...

Definitely adding to the Gradius collection vote as far as domestic goes. I picked it up for $10 recently and it's a sweet package.

There was Japan only shooter where you held the PSP vertically. You controlled the ship with the nub. I can't think of the name presently. But it looked cool.

Star soldier. An homage to the old school hudson shooter

I agree that parodius collection is great. You can also get the salamander collection as well, and there's a newer release that collects some PC Engine shooters.

The SNK arcade classics collection has a few run and guns, including Metal slug and shock troopers.

Both Capcom classics collections have shooters. You can't go wrong with either one. Probably some of the best collections for the price.

As far as platypus?? eh.. It's 10 bucks.

I've found Super Stardust to be pretty addicting, so I'll throw a vote in for those.

How import friendly are the Salamander Collection and the Parodius Collection?
