If you want to join the community and be shown respect then offer the same when you walk in the door.
Interesting. You call sarcasm 'aggressive' and ignore a blatantly douchey response in favour of my ADMITTEDLY over-the-top secondary response.

While I recognise the nature of an established group to rally around one of its own against a newcomer, I can't say I'm overly impressed with this particular segment of the site.

Meh. I have explained my methodology to my own satisfaction. If you find that unacceptable, I have no issues in just letting this subject die right here.
Fine with me. Just to be clear though, I don't care if it was your first post or your ten thousandth post, you instigated and escalated things. Nobody here would rally against you because you are new. You can call it sarcasm all you like, if you wanted to act like an adult a simple apology would have solved the whole damned thing right from the start.

EDIT: By the way, I'm done with this. Dig your own hole if you like.

In more related news, I felt the UN meeting on terror was long overdue. Obama demonstrated the sort of leadership that he's been reluctant to act upon for months.

Honestly, it's rude to sign up on a forum and instantly be unkind to one of the existing members, regardless of post count. If anyone knows of a clever cartoonist(s), please share your findings, since most cartoons I come across are like the ones I posted.

Maybe if they hadn't pulled a coup and let Mossadegh, a devoted religious sectarian, rule Iran it probably wouldn't have even gotten this bad in Iran and maybe even the Middle East as a whole. I find it so ironic that we are fighting wars to preserve "freedom" and just 70 years ago we threw a democratically elected leader out of power and instilled decades of authoritarian rule.

I think it would be great if we minded our own business as a country. If half the money that goes into these wars was put into our economy in a capacity to improve society we could solve a lot of problems.

It always seems to happen right around election time too. It's hard to believe that is a coincidence. Even if it is, and we are trying to demonstrate that we are still to be taken seriously it is a hard point to prove when we struggle so badly with something as small as this ISIS situation.

That is my uninformed opinion. I make no claims to be an expert on the matter at hand and only know what I have been privy to on mainstream media. Feel free to clarify the situation if I am mistaken. It is certainly naive and I'll admit that, but I would like to see a future were we could evolve beyond mass murder to solve our differences.

Human history is choke-full of stories of backstabbing and shaftings. The Poles were "pre-sold" in WWII, Saddam was gouged by his neighbours after his bloody war with Iran, the Shia uprising immediately after the Gulf War was crushed despite encouragements from Bush (and Saddam's gunships were still allowed to fly, further aggravating the situation), the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact duped Stalin very effectively.. So many examples.
