I'll mourn your loss for you and hope you find what you are looking for. Out of curiosity, what is the model?
And using your deck to answer calls, too... I really don't need that feature.
It's, surprisingly, a Sony Xplod. Model CDX-F5710.

Just look at that faceplate! To be honest, I picked this deck out ignoring all the features. I liked the faceplate. It's big, and easy to read. Most screens will only give you a small line for text that has to contain track number and time and whatever other info. They're usually dark and not easy to see. This one is big and bright (and not too bright at night). It isn't all flashy like most other decks. Just practical.

If it wont read discs, maybe the lens is just dirty and can be cleaned? I thought about maybe trying to clean the lens on my deck, but since it's making these awful grinding noises when it's trying to read a disc, I don't think a dirty lens in the problem. Once it finally recognizes the disc, I can play through it just fine (as long as I don't skip tracks or fast forward / rewind).
Well, let me know if you find any decks that don't suck. Every one I look at these days, I just hate the way they all look. Not to mention they're all loaded with features I don't need (they even have decks without CD players now - just radio and bluetooth/USB).
