Halfway through Pixel Junk Shooter Ultimate. I really like this game. It's simple, fun, and easy to play in short gaming sessions(can do one level in 5-15 minutes at most). Cool bosses too

Also playing The Last Tinker: City of Colors, which is winning me over with charm despite the gameplay just being decent at best.

And First Light rekindled my interest in Second Son, appropriate that I would get back into the game at the point where

you get Neon powers, which are like ten times better than those crappy smoke powers. Fetch>Delsin

None of these games will matter when I get my hands on Hyrule Warriors on Friday though

Stayed up way too late last night being addicted to Armored Core: Project Phantasma's arena mode. I'm at ranking 8 out of 50 so far, 8 more to go until I'm number one. The ranking ACs I'm fighting now are so tough I have to make custom ACs that solely exploit their individual weaknesses. I'm finding Armored Core and especially this arena stuff disturbingly addictive. May have opened a Pandora's box here.

I am playing Donkey Kong Country Returns with my children. I am only at the third section of the game, but I am enjoying it so far. It is pretty easy, and I expect to complete it by October. (I usually get all of the letters during my first attempt at a level and all of the puzzle pieces during my first or second attempt. I have also maxed out my lives, and I have an insanely large number of coins.) The unlockable "temple" levels can be challenging, however, and I hope the difficulty ramps up a bit before the end of the game.

I am also playing around with Virtua Racing, but I put it aside to play DKCR.

Finally, I recently decided to see if I could "beat" Track & Field (ARC/NES) by qualifying in all of the event with a single credit. I am having a little trouble with the skeet shooting and the high jump, but I expect to finish up that game shortly.

Well, I've been bitten by the bug and am now playing through Borderlands 2, in both multiplayer and singleplayer. In multiplayer with noiseredux, fastbilly, and another buddy named Xentrix, I'm playing as Salvador. In singleplayer I'm using Axton as I was a big fan of Roland in the first.

There are some big changes, mostly for the better once I got the hang of them(the UI changes took a bit considering I just came from Borderlands, and I still haven't gotten the hang of the new hotkeys for the various menus). And while Axton isn't Roland, I find so far that I can play them similarly, where I use the turret as a distraction while mowing down targets with Metal Storm. I'm only level 17, so I have a long way to go before I really get to see what he can do.

What surprises me the most about the game is how much better rocket launchers and sniper rifles feel to me. I find myself constantly using a sniper rifle, which is something I almost never did in Borderlands. And I expect I'll have a lot of fun with rocket launchers, once I pump up that max ammo a bit more.

Yeah it's pretty easy until you reach the 6th world, the "Cliff" one. Once you reach that point the kid gloves come off.

Not to be a negative Nancy, but to give my honest opinion: Earlier this year I played DKCR Wii version co-op with my fiance. Between the sloppy waggly platforming physics and death inducing tug-of-war camera, we had a bad time with it. We especially hated the later rocket barrel sections. By the time we reached the "Volcano" world, neither of us wanted to play Returns whatsoever anymore. Now I get that this game has gorgeous graphics and nice set design, but I honestly think Returns is not a well designed platformer at all, especially when it comes to gameplay. It was painfully obvious to me at least that this was Retro's first foray into the genre. (I would choose the original Donkey Kong Country over Returns any day.) I am fully aware that I'm alone in these opinions and everyone else worships this game.

All the same I hope you keep having fun with it and it stays easy for ya.

Good. I am glad to hear that.

So far, it is OK. It is certainly a polished product, but it just is not up there with Rayman Origins or Wario Land: Shake It! My children think it is thrilling, however, and they love the characters. (Also, the soundtrack is fantastic.)

To accompany that, I'll pop in and say that I think DKCR is a very fine platformer, I thought the design was excellent, the challenge builds appropriately. Its linear, in that you pretty much have to do what the game wants, but executing these levels with perfection (Getting a good time and getting all the items in one run) is not easy, but very rewarding.

Never had an issue with waggle whatsoever, and I did just about everything in this game. I'll agree on co-op though, it basically makes the game unplayable.

I do hope you enjoy it, it seems to be quite polarizing. For my money, its easily the best Donkey Kong game I have played. I have yet to play Tropical Freeze though.

I agree with this. I was never a big fan of the original DKC games, and I very much prefer DKCR. I also have not had any trouble with the motion controls, but after compelting (and loving) Wario Land: Shake It!, the motion controls in DKCR seem quite restrained.

I think you should get them this. If you want to keep them really busy, get them this. My daughter loved that for a good long time. Tons of stuff to do and extremely multiplayer. Fun for adults too!

(I merely agreed that DKCR was better than the original DKC trilogy. ENTIRE REST OF THE GAMING WORLD is also a pretty big fan of those games, despite the fact that I have never really cared for them.)

Also, Klonoa is awesome. I have a copy, but I have only played through ther PS1 version. I have never heard of Go Vacation!, but since it is a pseudo-sequel to We Ski & Snowboard, I may have to add it to my collection...
