I probably respect Ice T a lot more than I listen to him. I mean, the same guy who made "6 In The Morning" also fronted a heavy metal band, and also made an album w/ Kool Keith and a group of weirdos.

The Analog Brothers project is easily the Ice T project I come back to the most. And in fairness, it sounds more like a Kool Keith project really. It started w/ Keith's character Robbie Analog (an obvious dig at RZA's Bobby Digital). Then he brought in Ice T and Marc Live who is T's cousin, and was also in the very overlooked Raw Breed in the 90's. The project grew and though only spawned one album, a lot of the dudes working on this one became Keith regulars like Jacky Jasper and Marc Live who then went on to work w/ Keith on KHM and Clayborne Family, etc. Anyway, the Analog Bros album is ridiculous because, well, analog synths galore. It was like kids in candy store, these dudes playing with all these old synths and drum machines. It's an awesome album.

I liked that new Body Count album. Nothing earth-shattering, but it was good. I thought the the "99 Problems" was interesting. Like, Jay built his song on Iceberg's original, who in turn builds a new song on Jay's. I also thought it was great that they covered Suicidal Tendencies.

Ice T also directed a documentary a couple years ago called From Something To Nothing: The Art Of Rap that I thought was really well done. Rather than try to be a history lesson or be about any certain movement or period in hip hop, it's actually about the art of writing. The cast in insanely long, and varied. My favorite interviewee was Rakim.

Looking over the tracklist on temple of boom i had forgot about "locotes" which is a pretty sick song and more of the old hill style. The return diss from cube "king of the hill" is pretty funny also.
