I played this game for the very first time over at a friends place today and I must say... I've been missing out! I love games like Kings of the Beach and Blades of Steel where you can go head to head against friends or good computer AI and this game definitely delivers on both of those fronts. I love the old school countries and personalities of the characters.
This one is a new must own for me. Anyone else got any experience with this game?
I just discovered awesome.... Super Dodgeball on the NES.

I like this game and made sure to pick it up. However, my memories are fonder of it than my enjoyment now. Still a good game, but gets old fairly quick.

Check out the Neo Geo Super Dodge ball, that version blows the NES one out of the water.

I remember the arcade at the mall where I lived had this and it was busy with quarters lined up pretty often.

GBA Super Dodgeball is the best if you have two serious players. You can customize your teams stats and special moves pretty deeply.
The issue with the NES one is that it really shows off the sprite limit with its insane flickering. However it is 4 player if you have it on the famicom.

Super Dodgeball was one of my very favorite NES games, and it inspired me to pick up:
Some of them are (way) better than others, but they are all pretty fun.

The ones with "Super Dodgeball" in the title.
I have spent the most time with those games, and my time with the others is too limited to give them a fair evaluation. From what I have read, however, All Star Slammin' D-Ball is bad, Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball is OK, and XS Junior League Dodgeball, despite its terrible cover art, is awesome.

Clearly that kid is the descendant of Wonder Boy, who lived in Monster Land.
