We happened on Ninja Warrior for the first time last Monday and my son has been wanting a ninja course ever since. I figured $100 and 4 hours I could do something legit. I always underbudget both time and money.
but not this time. Monkey bars $22, rock climbing grips $45, treated lumber $30, lag screws $3, 5/8" rope $15. Time in - 5 hours.

Yes, i'm over on both, but marginally so and MUCH closer than I usually am.

My wife was nervous with me taking on the project as I am halfway into a bunkbed project for the girls and closet doors for her sewing room. So she was VERY relieved it was only a 1/3 of the day on the ninja course.

Pirates put up 70 points against the heels, and over 750 offensive yards. Plus, we broke our attendance record.

Fun times, and I talked my bro and Father in law to stay for the entire game. Well, I mostly had to talk my brother in law to stay. Leaving games early to "beat traffic" is silly.

The raising of the NO QUARTER flag is always something sweet.

People losing their shit over horrible cgi graphics on the scoreboard is sad. Very sad.

And the absence of "Na na na na, hey hey, good bye" when the heel fans left at the beginning of the 4th qtr was saddening.

The Duke game today was "Throwback Day." There were constant flashes of Tecmo Bowl, Mario, Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter graphics on the side of the scoreboard relating to plays in the game. It was pretty awesome.

Also a 47-13 win to move to 4-0 doesn't hurt.

:D - Pretty great day with the family (Wife and kids). We hit the flea market and discovered a little hole in the wall Mexican joint, seemed more authentic than anything else in our area, it had a long line of Mexicans and the lady cooking was only taking orders in Spanish. Anyway, it was good...

I found some pretty nice deals on stuff I normally don't come across. I got a 12" infinity subwoofer for $30 it sounds pretty good compared to the crappy 10" Polk it replaced. We also picked up some type of vintage rolling cart for the Wife's craft room for $5 and this thing has Steel end caps with heavy full 360 rotating ball casters and hardwood shelves. Pet store for the member of the family who stayed home (our Boston Terrier) and got organic grain free treats for much less than we usually pay, in fact all of the pet store stuff was red tag + 30% off so we spent less than half original cost.

Lastly, and most importantly we stopped at this place a rare treat for us. The fun was in watching my boys get icing all over their noses and such as they devoured these admittedly expensive but undeniably tasty cupcakes. They didn't dig the authentic Mexican fare so they were stoked about giant cupcakes before dinner. We don't typically eat out and when we do it is something as healthy as possible. Taking a little break from that made the day seem celebratory somehow.

I passed up a really nice amp which was the only regret. I didn't know what it was and didn't feel like a $60 gamble from the goodwill, turns out it would have been well worth it.

With all the craziness that we have had lately it was a fun day to spend time together. Not much productive happened, but it was worth it.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention the guy who was ecstatic over getting a mouse and keyboard for $10.50. He stopped an told me so, even said the bag (old plastic grocery bag) was "just perfect!" He was a strange dude, but his joy over simple things was really endearing and infectious. Sadly, other folks didn't find it as cheerful as I did.

:D Partied at the neighbors again, since they had people doing ring dunks. There was one scuffle, and some yellling about the point I left. Otherwise it was good though, and I got to talk to some pretty fine looking girls. And everybody said I look older than I am, which is nice.
