I LOVE Fantasy Zone! I think it is the one constant game that I nearly always fire up when getting my Master System fix (I have been spoiled by autofire/turbo options on emulators though). Too bad I just have the cart (no box/manual, like the better half of my collection), but it is well loved.

Gangster Town: Shooting ghosts of enemies you just killed is both cruel and satisfying  .
I really need to get a second Light Phaser so I can enjoy it 2-player.

Otherwise, I think I'm done collecting for this system. I don't feel the need to import, but the more affordable (last I checked) Sonic and Power Strike are really tempting for me.

yeah the Sonic games are the game gear ones right? they look great. so many late-gen SMS games i never even saw carried over here, mostly genesis ports but i keep reading how many of those ended up being their own games & better for it too.

Fantasy Zone broke my heart as a kid - got to the last boss! but in true R-Type fashion, if you die with your best weapon on you, you're doomed with the pea shooter for the remaining lives, ugh.

other fun light phaser game is Rambo III, i know i'm forgetting some - oh and next time you get a game over in Gangster Town, shoot the dude's hat for a continue!

Pretty much, except that you get to see more of the screen on the SMS games. Probably would solve most of my issues with Sonic 2 (Sonic and Tails) for GG. Definitely putting the SMS versions on my Everdrive GG. But I guess I would like the original to round out my (mostly satisfying) SMS cart collection.

So many shmups have this curse. It's like, oh, so you're NOT perfect, well let's just give you a handicap in the hardest level that you can survive to.
Also pretty sure this is what would get me to 1CC a shmup more than anything else (because really, what choice do you have :P ).
Actually, I still prefer it this way, as acquiring powerups is half the fun for me.

Always wanted to try Rambo III. I passed it up back in the day for some reason.
Gangster Town keeps surprising me though.

Games like that, their real origin is easily lost. Who knows if the cart inside the box has been swapped between US and PAL.

I bought the US one (mono color cover) from a US seller. I bought the PAL (color cover) from someone in Europe. I've actually had 4 different copies of Power Strike along the way. They were all the same inside

but didn't want to play the usual. So I hooked up my master system to play it!

I showed it off to some of my facebook buddies. Some are jelly!

I really hope some intrepid developer is able to make a Master System port of the Game Gear version of Ristar. I would buy that in an instant. :)

SMS was my love. LOVE. I recall seeing that commercial where the lady rides a motorcycle into the living room...my parents never got us an Atari so when this wave of consoles came out, I was old enough to save money. My sister and I saved up, made one of those thermometer charts with the goal of $127 so we could buy a sega at toyrsrus.

My mom filled in the last $50 or so and we went and man, life changed. I lived that thing. The fondest memory I have is Santa dropping Quartet under the tree and it was the first game my sis and I could play together. We played the balls out of that. I could beat the game without gettig bit once. I still play it despite how easy it is. It's title screen is my ring tone

My school was a warzone. Divided by the nes and SMS fanboys. It was really dumb. It's inoy later in life did I discover that there are a lot of great nes titles despite how closed minded I was to it as a kid. Haha, I actually just bought a nes yesterday for the first time!

Still though, in comparison to the nes, I loved:
- the nice uniform boxes, I'm a bit add on design
- the sexy black and red system, not dorky bland grey
- I think the graphics were better
- no flashing red light of death problem.

Later on, I've appreciated on the nes
- select start on the controller
- the sexy non uniform artwork (though I live the original pixel artwork carts)

Nowadays, I like collecting SMS, cause its way more affordable and the odds of CIB are higher, due to the awesome cart boxes.
