LIterally that is the way to do it :wink: Those tabs in it are the only thing getting in your way of playing them right now(a lot nicer region protection than current gen consoles :roll: )

Break those tabs right off! No, you don't have to do anything to the board. It's nothing electrical, just two little pieces of plastic that stop you from inserting a SFC cart. The NA SNES and SFC carts use the same lockout chip, so doing this will let you play 100% of the SFC carts without issue. And no, it will not affect US carts at all. There's really NO reason NOT to break those tabs out.

It's awesome that this thing doesn't have to get region modded (for my needs at least).

So I'm guessing a region modded SNES would be for PAL consoles trying to play SFC and NTSC-U games?

While on the import subject, if anyone is looking for a good SNES shmup that is infinitely cheaper than it's US counterpart, Sonic Wings is a solid game.

Played Gunforce yesterday ,not brilliant by any standard but for some reason I keep pressing start for another go :P

It's also fairly short, which is nice. The game can be finished in under 20 minutes.

What's a good cheap SNES game to play that uses all 6 buttons? I have a bunch of SNES controllers I need to test.

I was going to get Street Fighter or MK, but I already played them a bunch on the Genesis and Saturn. I would rather try something new.

The fastest way to test a controller is with a computer (you obviously need a USB adapter). There's something in control panel that you can quickly confirm each button press working.

If you have a flash cart, there's a controller test cart that you can get the ROM of. It's also a very fast test.

The first MK is better on Genesis than SNES, but MKII is a million times better on the SNES than the Genesis. So much better that it might feel like playing something new.

Super Mario World uses all the buttons. Y and X are run, B is jump, and A is spin jump. D-pad is obvious, start is pause. Pressing select while paused on a level that has been beaten will exit back to the map. L and R scroll the screen left or right. Holding L and R will also let you re-enter a castle that has already been beaten.
