Cheers. I did wonder if anybody even read them.mjmjr25 wrote:Keep the posts coming, betagam. I'm no longer doing anything myself w/NGPC, but I enjoy your posts.
Unless I can find a way to get games in China my collecting will likely be on hold for a while now, although I'll still buy games and have them sent to a UK address to pickup later if I see any bargains.
I have 29 NGPC games (27/39 PAL releases) now and duplicate carts of most of them for 2 player/transfer stuff.
I'm running out of games to search for now but the following are still on my hitlist:
Colour Games
Evolution – Eternal Dungeons
Magical Drop Pocket
Cool Borders Pocket
Dive Alert – Becky
Puyo Pop
Shanghai Mini
Dynamite Slugger
Neo 21
Neo Baccarat
Neo Cherry Master Color
Neo Mystery Bonus
B&W games
Baseball Stars (dual language)
King of Fighters R1 (dual language)
Neo Geo Cup Plus (dual language)
Pocket Tennis (dual language)
Samurai Shodown! (dual language)
Dual language Japanese imports
Big Bang Pro Wrestling
Cool Borders Pocket
Dynamite Slugger
Shanghai Mini
Some like Puyo Pop and Becky's version of Dive Alert are quite obtainable, some are merely a matter of getting lucky or spending enough (Evolution, Cool Boarders).
I don't see myself bothering with the black and white PAL releases, especially when they can be played in English with the dual language Japanese release. Big Bang Pro Wrestling is one I might try to obtain while I'm in China. I imagine there are Japanese websites that will ship it to me.
I don't really care about the Casino games. I'd only get them if they are going very cheap.
I've been testing out the link cable with a few games and finding some fun things and easter eggs. For example, two linked copies of Match of the Millenium will play different intros with characters from each roster. I like that you can play as Tails in Sonic Adventure with the cable. It was also interesting to discover that your percentage in Card Fighters clash can be transferred into VS points and hidden character blocks for Match of the Millenium, although the reward for my meagre 44% completion wasn't great and the system identified it as the SNK version when it was, in fact, the Capcom version.
I'm looking forward to linking up my SNK and Capcom Card Fighters and trying to get a complete deck through card trading. Getting those Super Clubs through 2 player games should also help me finally beat Neo Turf Masters. I'm looking forward to seeing what other games do. The cable is nice and long but my only complaint is that it plugs into the top of the machine which does feel kind of uncomfortable. The bottom would have been better.
I have discovered one flaw with some NGPC games in the last few days. some of them don't have a way to initialise the cart. The most prominent one I have is Gals Fighters. Normally the first thing I do with any cart is wipe the other person's save data but in this case I can't. Thankfully whoever had it before me had only unlocked one secret character but it's still annoying. I've heard that KoF R2 also has this issue. Does anybody know if any other games are affected by this and is there a way to get around it? Maybe a button combination or something?
