What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Also, it is "Brake", people. Not "Break. :P
I'd get a standard if I could find one for a decent price. They don't make that many nowadays, and every time I seem to find an older one its already converted or trashed.

Smile: Played my first organized hockey game in probably 20 years tonight.

Frown: We got it handed to us 6-1.

You win some, you lose some, but we were just outmatched tonight. I skated hard and I feel good about that, but it still sucks when it ends up a loss.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

Frown: Maybe it's just that I'm grumpy today or something but I'm pretty miffed that North America is getting Hyrule Warriors so late after JPN and EU. No, I'm not looking for a lecture or history lesson about the fine (mostly) past-tradition of making EU customers wait months and months longer than other customers. I'm just really keen to play Hyrule Warriors, more keen than I have been for any release since Wind Waker HD and I honestly don't see why there is any reason to delay the release here.

Smile: Downloaded Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes last night to see if I should get back into the Metal Gear series. I found Metal Gear Solid 4 to be clunky and pretentious with a really fucking stupid story. So far I really like Ground Zeroes. The presentation is eye catching, the tone is shockingly dark (even for Metal Gear Solid) and Kiefer Sutherland's version of Solid Snake is surprisingly palatable.

Huge Smile: I'm also terrible at Ground Zeroes. As I understand it, you can clear the game within three or four hours. I'm three or four hours into it and I have died in every conceivable way, miles from anything approaching the first mission goal. In the first 5 seconds of gameplay, I started running in a circle atop the cliff where you begin. My idea was to get a feel for the controls but suddenly I'm hanging from a cliff! I press the X button and fall to my death. Things are NOT looking good for the free world if I'm the best soldier in the land.

Huger Smile: Listening to Miller complain when I call a helicopter landing in a hot DMZ + listening to the copter pilot complain when the enemy AA guns start shooting him down = I really like this game, even if I'm not good.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

:) - Coke brought back Surge today, exclusively sold (for now) on Amazon. I've got many happy memories with that soda, playing my first emulators on the old PCs, watching MST3K, having it at all the arcades I went to, and working at a place where I could get it whenever I wanted it. It's replacement, Vault was also good but wasn't quite the same.

 - It sold out in about an hour.

Smile: I've been very, very sick lately (going to internal medicine on Wednesday) so I haven't shaven in days, leaving me with a weird beard.

Since I don't want to look like a hobo when I see the physician, I shaved, but left a van dyke to surprise my wife when she gets home.
