Totally stoked for this! Will be pre-ordering this the moment it becomes available.
Mr. Kurt Kalata is, IMHO, the unofficial source for all things Castlevania, and has been since the late 90's. Hardcore Gaming 101 is a helluva retro game site, and the Castlevania Dungeon was always THE site for 'Vania news/rumors back in the days before Twitter and social media. If you're a Castlevania fan, you should definitely check it out!

Not owning an NES in the past I'd never played one until a year or so ago. Trying to acquire all the main titles legit. So far I have Dracula's Curse and IV as well as Adventure for GB. So impressed with them. Dracula's Curse is definitely my favorite title from my 'from scratch' NES library I started last year.

Castlevania 3 is my favorite, tied with the first game.

Super IV will always be my personal favorite.
In part because of how awesome Dracula's Curse was, my 9 year old brain couldn't fathom how much better Castlevania could get at that point in time.

...then came the Super NES, with it's Mode 7 and beautiful graphics.

I was in 16-bit Heaven!

CV4 was my first CV game. I played the hell out of it, and it was a long time before I ever tried another CV game. For that reason, and my fondness of the SNES, CV4 was always my favorite. The first CV games I tried after 4 were the NES ones, and they seemed archaic and dull compared to 4. And too hard. But after time, they really grew on me. Speaking from nostalgia, it'd be a hard choice. CV4 would be a contender (but at this point in my life, I guess I can be nostalgic for CV1 and 3 as well). But as far as how much fun I have playing the games these days, I enjoy playing CV1 and 3 more than 4.

I've been itching to play Symphony of the Night again. I haven't played through that game in a few years now. I can't remember the last time I did. But now I'm stuck with which version to play. The original PS1 version, the Saturn version, the PSP version... And come to think of it, I haven't yet played the fan re-translated PS1 version (original Japanese voice acting but with translated text).

If you've beat the ps1 version more than once, I'd recommend the Saturn version - at least for the new stages and music.
The PSP version is a straight rip of the original ps1 disc.

I've played the Saturn version multiple times as well.

The PSP version has some difference from the PS1 version. For starters, it has a cleaned up script and new voice acting (so all the voices match across the Dracula X Chronicles). You fight Maria to get the Holy Glasses, like in the Saturn version. It has two more familiars. There might be a few other differences I'm forgetting.
