Celceta is coming soon.

I don't think I have room to squeeze in Mask of the Sun - A New Theory this fall, though I will get to it eventually.

As for Ys V, it will be the original 1995 game. The Expert version is oddly and annoyingly expensive, so I don't own it.

Archers, Ninjas and Rogues are some of the best classes. Only put one type of magic on your casters in general (dark, earth and fire are the best types for most). Petrify status is incredibly useful.

Stick to one weapon type so you can level it.

Magic scrolls can be purchased and used by anyone, even non mage units. Very useful for emergency healing, reviving and exorcising. Lets clerics use attack magic too, but can get pricy.

I used this as my main team. 12 is the most you can use in a battle, but 10 is about right for your main party. I just used generic units mostly, so there's not really any story spoilers in here:
Ninja x 2 - best offensive unit once they learn Steelstance (around level 15) without a doubt
Archer x 2 - Most useful unit type in the game. Having at least 2 makes battles much more manageable.
Rogue - Lots of useful skills and reasonable power, but very prone to dying.
Berserker - Only really used this guy for taking on monsters and blocking paths.
Valkyrie - Mostly a support unit. I'm not sure I'd recommend using one. I'd probably go for a second wizard/enchantress instead.
Enchantress - Lots of damage potential, became MUCH more useful after learning meditate at about level 13. Prone to dying
Cleric - Dies all the time. Doesn't do much. Still pretty essential early on for healing and exorcising enemies. I equipped her with a lobber to heal and attack with items when she was lower on MP.
Vartan - Amazing early on, still ok later. Get high up and use bow on everyone.

Does the amount of loot I get determined on how long it takes me to beat a level or the amount of guys I kill?

I will echo that archers are definitely some of the best units to have in TO.

Pretty sure it's how many guys you kill.

One other big tip - bows can often hit enemies outside of the given range, especially if they're on an even or lower height than you. Try checking your hit rate on enemies who aren't in the indicated range, it can often help you finish guys off way before they become a threat to your units.

Oh, and Knights kinda suck. Too slow for their rampart aura to be handy, and because of the way the AI works their defence isnt that handy (AI always goes for the unit it can deal the most damage to)

Sort of an RPG: been playing Theatrhythm: Curtain Call. SO MUCH CONTENT! I can't wait for the Romancing SaGa DLC pack to come out.

So it has every single song + DLC song (minus Somnus) from the first game. Then it adds in a bunch more songs, both from games that were in the first and new games (FFT, Chocobo Dungeon, Mystic Quest, etc). All the EMS stages are now FMS stages. They've added several EMS stages, which are a Rhythmia unlockable. All the EMS stages are from the new games. The Chaos Shrine has been replaced with quest mode. The way it works is you get this random map with several songs on it, branching paths, and individual stages might have a bonus on them like a guaranteed miniboss (for better items). Every song adds a day to the time you've spent on the quest, as well as using a tent, and there is a multiplier to your experience based on how many days you've been in (so it's good for leveling characters). It uses the actual song layouts that you'd play in single song mode; the quest difficulty determines if the game gives you the Normal, Expert, or Ultimate track, and you don't necessarily get all of the same type across the map. My guess is that there's a difficulty number assigned to every song and every track and it uses that to determine if this song is appropriate for a level 27 map or not. At the end the boss is guaranteed to drop crystal shards, but the boss only drops them the first time. This makes it easier to do unlocking, since the bosses drop multiple shards at a time. Speaking of unlocking, you have to unlock everyone but the four characters you pick as your initial party, but there's only 8 or 9 colors of shards; a color is associated with several characters, and when you pick up enough shards you get to unlock one of them (of your choice). You also don't need as many shards to unlock a character; so far it's been 4-6.

It's basically eclipses the original game in every way.
