So what have you guys been watching lately?

I'm pretty positive Amy Jo Johnson was the impetus for many a young boy's first non-morning wood.

She still is good look all these years later in the series Flashpoint.

Started on Nikita and The Killing the other night on Netflix. About 10 episodes in on both of them right now and really like them.

In the case of Nikita I've been meaning to watch it for a while but the thumbnail on Netflix always turned me off. Thought it was going to be one of those shows that capitalized on sex to keep up ratings :P. I'm pretty impressed with the quality of the action and story now that I have started watching it. Probably the best action show I have watched in quite a while Maggie Q really kicks ass.

The Killing on the other hand is kind of having it's ups and downs with me right now. The writings good but my interest seems to go up and down. If it weren't for the fact that they are really good with cliffhangers and feeding the audience just enough evidence each episode to keep them hooked then I probably would have given up on it already :P. Guess one of the main things that bugs me is the leads commitment issues with her boyfriend but that should resolve itself by the end of season one I hope . I know it is part of her character but the whole situations just getting stale/repetitive.

We finally got Antenna TV here on one of the subchannels this year. On slow nights I've been watching All In The Family & Sanford and Son. I love Norman Lear's 70s sitcoms.

+1 for Flashpoint since I saw that here too. Sucks it's over now.

I think Nikita got the whole "use pretty young people and sex appeal to get ratings" thing mostly out of its system in the first half of season 1 to satisfy the network, then just starting focusing mostly on good storytelling and characters going into the second half of that season...with the fact that it had attractive people in it as a bonus.

From the back end of season 1 all the way to its series finale, I think Nikita was remarkably consistent. While I'm sure people can point to a few episodes here and there or story elements they didn't like, each season of the show was for the most part really good. The show had really good pacing with very few episodes that could be considered filler, some great surprises, and while Nikita was on the air I would say it was probably the best action show on a network channel based purely on its action set pieces and stunts. Towards the end of its run, a couple shows like Revolution and Arrow could give it a run for its money for pure action set pieces, but I still think Nikita was at the top. In no small part due to Maggie Q doing a lot of her own stunt work. The show gives you a little of everything really, some great martial arts and some awesome shoot outs.

Nikita is actually a reboot, which you may or may not already know of the La Femme Nikita USA show, not to mention the original Nikita movie. I'm a fan of all three, though I think this show is probably the best of them all

I binged a bunch of Flashpoint one year when we went down to my GF's family's trailer at Emerald Isle, where there is no cable and the only channel that comes in well is Ion. Pretty good show. And yes, AJJ is still smokin'.

Just wish it had better music. Though the show doesn't use any music. Just the intro and credits. But still. It could use something better than some old jazz.

They changed up the intro music slightly each season, like remixes. I think they all kind of stuck to the jazzy tone though. The Wire is an awesome show, though it gets kind of tiresome the way TV snobs talk it up like it is and always will be the greatest show in the history of mankind

Anyone still watching The Strain? The "Creatures of the Night" episode was awesome. Kind of what I would like to see more of in this show. Without spoiling anything, it felt very much like a classic horror movie scenario or something out of one of the better episodes of The Walking Dead. I'm starting to love the different way each character views the vampire menace. Supernatural monster? scientific, parasitic plague? Or a new type of vermin to be exterminated?

Speaking of vamps, I watched the first episode of From Dusk til Dawn. It was pretty good, lots of tension, and kind of reworks some stuff from the original movie. I watched it very late one night, and had to struggle a bit to stay awake at first, but halfway through the episode it managed to get my full attention all the way to the end of the episode.

I've also been rewatching season 1 of Chuck and season 2 of Angel on Netflix. I actually had them on as background noise while doing some work around my recently moved into house, and kept getting distracting from what I was doing as I got sucked in both shows again. Angel's second season is still my favorite. It's so damn good.

So I watched the season 6 finale of Sons of Anarchy today, followed by the season premiere and I just have to say...

Genma may very well be the most vile character I have ever seen on a TV show, even compared to some truly evil, heinous characters on shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. I want that bitch dead. It's an odd thing whenever I see Nero and her together. Nero may be the most likable character on the show. Seeing him kiss Genma is like watching an angel kiss a demon. She is a psychopath. WHAT THE HELL DOES HE SEE IN HER? What is it with decent guys like Nero, John Teller, or Unser falling in love with this psychotic bitch? It makes NO SENSE AT ALL.

Juice is an idiot and douschebag. I'd like to see him dead soon too. And I really don't care at all what happens to Unser any more. I'm so sick of that pathetic sap being so far up Genma's ass

I love this show, but damn it gets me pissed seeing the biggest villain on the show (Genma) get away with evil, selfish act after evil, selfish act

I watched a new (I think) episode of TMNT this morning on Nickelodeon (I think). It was fairly great as it was well written and had a great sense of humor.

It was weird though. A cat was mutated with ice cream, and Mikey wouldn't stop licking it.
