Every critic with a brain loved it. Not minimizing your point, but critics did love it. To rock, to be bop to do wop, man than cat did it all. There is a "THIS IS WHAT I'M GOING TO DO" and do it well mentality with Joel.

Mind blowing what the guy did. he and a few others such as Paul Simon straight of changed genres with a few different chords and rhythms. So rope. And not the best, by maybe the most recognizable, You can call me Al, and In the Middle of the Night are timeless. And it's "Pop!".

I was talking more about my friend group. Whenever Billy Joel comes up, it's always "The Stranger" or "Piano Man". Not saying I don't like those, for sure, but I love 52nd Street and Innocent Man. I feel like those albums get lost in the shuffle.

Eurythmics - Sweet dreams are made of this, here comes the rain, there must be an angel

POD - Youth of the nation

Three doors down - kryptonite

Weird al Yankovic - Foil (parody of royals)

I know weird al is strange but this just took the cake to some extent

Apparently Marilyn Manson decided to cover this song while listening to it while on drugs. He apparently imagined the song playing slower and sung in a voice similar to his own.

Also, aside from Marilyn Manson's cover, I also love the ones by Emily Browning (from the Sucker Punch soundtrack) and recently the PelleK cover.

Totally. Also apparently Dresden Dolls vocalist/pianist Amanda Palmer (aka Mrs. Neil Gaiman) lent her vocals briefly in "First World Problems".
