Ive gotten the star maps on all of the planets except for Manaan. I was on the Ebon hawk back-tracking to collect some side quest items. I was heading toward the cockpit to travel back to manaan and there was a droid in it.
It was called something like, 'galactic droid'. I selected the dialogue option, and it listed off all the planets that i had visited (Including Endar Spire, Taris, "unknown planet", and Star forge)
I chose the 'taris', and nothing happened. I turned around to open up the galaxy map and a load screen came up. After the loading had finished I was on taris. This is where it gets weird. I have my entire party, everyone is how they "should be" excluding Bastilla (Who at first wasnt there, and i figured it was because Darth Malak has her, but then as i progressed through taris she came back into my party after the swoop race). I have all my quest items, however as i progress through taris, its as if i have started a new game. Their is no way for me to revert back to the ebon hawk, and i cant get to the ebon hawk VIA Davik, because canderous is in my party, and he want show up to take me to davik.
Any input?
Knights of the Old republic glitch?
Re: Knights of the Old republic glitch?
It's a buggy game. BioWare does buggy like nobody's business. What can you do?

If you mean that literally...I can walk around taris and hope that something comes up. I dont have any previous save files to revert to.Mozgus wrote:It's a buggy game. BioWare does buggy like nobody's business. What can you do?
If you mean that rhetorically...I can cry myself to sleep knowing that I got 4/5ths through a game and because of poor development I am stuck.
I checked out some FAQ's and nowhere within any of them is the, "galactic droid" mentioned. Do I have some weird version of the game?
Re: Knights of the Old republic glitch?
BioWare does buggy, it's true. Not as bad as, say, Troika or Bethesda, but..yeah. This sounds like some random, sad bug that hit you. I've certainly never heard of it. Should reload.
Re: Knights of the Old republic glitch?
It was certainly a fun game, but with issues like this...and many other numerous small issues (in comparison) that I overlooked, it really shows how sloppy the developers were. How did it become game of the year?

KOTOR II was the same way, i remember playing that game and getting close to the end and having something not happen to progress the game...so i was stuck with like 40 hours of game play and i couldnt finish the game...
I learned then to use lots and lots of save slots on that game...

Re: Knights of the Old republic glitch?
Its a buggy game. I typically finish most RPGs with 50+ saves. I learnt to do that loooong ago, playing Might and Magic 3 on PC. Used only one save, which became corrupted somehow. My little 10-year old brain was overwhelmed at the loss of a whole summer of questing... I wrote a letter (yes, a letter!) to New World Computing, complaining and asking for a refund or a patch. *sigh* Needless to say, no reply from Jon Van and crew was forthcoming.
Anyway, really sorry to hear that Remy. The game does have a great ending too... I guess you could download a save game from somewhere on the net - thats about the only workaround I can think of.

Welcome to "Golden Master as Beta" and "Early Adopters as Beta Testers", the two primary mantra of many modern games publishers. At least some companies manage to remedy many of the problems down the line. Others do not, at all.
