:? Well the job hunt continues. I'm all over the hiring staff trying to get a hold of them again or get some updates, this wait on feedback is killing me.

Just lost an offer too because I challenged the pay rate. But... it was also going to be going back to a place I worked at a few years back. I left on good terms and was open to rehire, but yeah. The offer was higher than what I made there back then, but lower than what I was just making at my last job. Sounded like it was in the bag though... but I want change and new experiences.

Ugh, hope something works out soon.

Yeah I'm still not pleased at harris teeter(becuase duh I'm going to be way underpaid given I had no experience going into the matter) since I get paid 9.25 but you'll find something eventually hopefully. (heck I think I'm going to go back to the job hunt...been almost four months or more and I just don't think I can handle it much more at the current wage... )

My dissertation advisor passed away this morning, which is hitting me terribly hard. He was a giant in the field and aside from some of my immediate family, there has been no other person in my own life that's been a more vital role model, a better friend, or a more valued mentor. Much of what I am both professionally and personally is because of his guidance and his example, and today feels something like what I imagine losing my father may some day feel like.

I'm sorry to hear that, DSH. You are lucky to have had an advisor who had such a profound impact on your life, and I know you will miss him immensely.

Yeah, Ds, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and mentor. But I know you'll continue to expand on his work and do him proud.

Sad news. Sorry to hear Dish.

If it is any consolation, his work lives on through you.

 - saw something scurrying in the yard as I just took the dog out, scared the living crud out of me for a second, turned on the flashlight on my phone on and realized it was a possum. To make things funnier(even though it shouldn't be that funny) the dog tried running after the thing while on the leash and didn't get very far....

 - ashamed of myself that I fell asleep during pokemon heroes the movie. Love that movie but I was apparently worn out from work because I swear I only made it halfway through it...going to have to go back and rewatch the whole darn thing now :?

Sorry to hear that Dave. I'm sure if he was a good influence on you, then he was on others as well.
