I got you beat, today IS my wedding anniversary! I actually forgot it was the dreamcast's birthday and don't play today. I will have to give it some belated love tomorrow.jvalentine98 wrote:9-9-99!!
Well, I didn't get one until 2000, like in March after Code Veronica came out.
What's sad is I'm sure there are guys who can tell you when the DC came out, but couldn't tell you their wedding anniversary or wife/gf's birthday!
I remember reading all the reviews in game pro and wanting a DC so bad, then my uncle got one and I played the sonic adventure demo and was amazed. I finally got my own console a year or so after launch, I already owned jet grind radio because I played it at a friend's house and loved it so much!

I'm hungover after all the fun I had with Dreamcast.
Played through some PSO, went on a Ruins run.
Flew through some races on Daytona USA.
Beat the 70 Man Battle on Shenmue in 8:30:44.

Re: Happy 15th birthday, Dreamcast!
Apparently my DC really wanted its birthday off, as it refused to load half of my games that have always worked.
Nonetheless, I gave Zero Gunner 2 a good romping last night. Love the freedom this game gives you, just flying all over the place, shooting at crazy angles, launching those option pods, sucking in tons of little boxes... all of it just feels great.
I think this game has my favorite "Thing turns into giant robot" bosses that Psikyo is known for. They manage to hit this cinematic epic-ness, without halting the flow of the game. Music in this one is surprisingly good too, as Psikyo's music is usually one of the weaker aspects of their games imo. They stuck to simplicity, but the tone really fits the bleak cityscapes of the game.
So yeah, Happy Birthday Dreamcast.

Re: Happy 15th birthday, Dreamcast!
On its 15th birthday, my Dreamcast wept silently in its storage box within the dark recesses of a cold closet's top shelf. Its myriad games whimpered their own despaired cries as they sat huddled forgotten in a box of their own. The Dreamcast only wished to feel the surge of electrons once more in its veins, the games only to spew to life their glorious fields of joy. And in another box not unlike a coffin, my Dreamcast's VMU mustered up one last pixelated image... not an animated birthday cake and candles... but rather a single simple vision. One solitary tear drop shown, but quickly faded away as the batteries exhaled their final breaths.
My Dreamcast had a wretched 15th birthday, and I am a bad person.
