But you're not leveling as quick, right?

Sounds great. I'll PM my Xbox live tag thingy and I'll see you on there.

True enough on Bungie telling MS to F-off, they so had it coming. Still I'm not so sure MS chat will be better than Sony, they did learn their lessons very well going into this system. I wonder how poorly the One version will sell versus the PS4. It would be fascinating if you had half the buys and half the traffic or worse, could just hear all the complaining about that one from those people already.

I recognize this as the beta redone too which is great, I missed it, but did watch the first couple hours of it on a massive youtube play out which sold me on the game so I'm good. Just need to get the kid in bed and I'm returning back to earth to level up and get some cash.

To me it's just a fact. The codecs that MSFT developed for this are just miles better than Sony. That being said, Sony is better than they were with the PS3. I picked up the Gold Headset and it's more than serviceable.

Played a bunch last night, but not enough to get past where I was in the beta. Love it, Halo with fun questing and loot drops.

That was sort of my impression yesterday too. Today I've spent a lot of the day on the Moon, working through those missions (I have just the last one to do).

I would guess that, just in the campaign, there's probably a good 20+ hours here based on my time spent in the first two "worlds." I'm at level 11 or 12, and leveling did slow down around level 6 or 7 compared to the beta.

I do wish it was a bit more Borderlands-esque in terms of its storytelling and the way it handled guns and loot. In short, there's not enough of any of those things. Still, it looks and feels great, offers a good challenge at points, and is a great game to explore in thus far.

Ack, there are "patrol" missions on each world where you are set down and just given free reign to explore all you want and to do little side missions that are randomly generated. They are handy for leveling up and the best way, I think, to get a sense of all the level design and world building that went into the game.

Thus far I think the beta was a faithful representation of the game - I haven't discovered many new ways of playing or new types of missions, etc. I am interested to see what the great "post game content" is like, as Bungie has boasted about it a good deal...and clearly they want people coming back to this regularly for years.

I don't know if I'd call it a new way of playing, but it seems like the roaming level X's that stomp you are more prevalent than in the beta. I went the wrong way and got ambushed hard last night.

That questing I did a bit last night after taking down the second area as it got a little dicey being lv3. I went into the open area that popped up along with 2 other stages on the map and ran that around for at least an hour and I think I'm lv6 now on it and better for it. I'm just going to poke away at it since I have a preschooler here in the way until later in the evening so I just can't go crazy with it. I'm fine with that, the appeal is there to keep going so I'll get my $60 worth and maybe I'll not ignore someones request to join a guild/clan eventually. I'd rather not run with random people, usually doesn't work out great.

I have played way too much of this!

Couple of quick tips: Don't buy a new Spaceship or bike. You are given one of each as the story progresses. I stupidly wasted half my cash on a ship before I realised.

I'm very much enjoying playing it and I enjoy the fact that I have a good group to play with. I think if I was on my own, I'd be a bit put off.

I do have some issues though. A lot of the missions are structured very similarly usually go to a place, upload the Dinklebot into something, fight off waves of enemies, repeat. That's my main concern.

I found tonight that when two higher level players took on a lower level guy he struggled to level because we just creamed everything. You might say, well obviously, but it still seemed odd. By the end of Venus I was level 14 as you should be but he was 11. It may also be because he is a bit crap and isn't playing his class very well.

Otherwise I'm really digging it. I like the strikes best so far: really horrible tough boss monsters that always keep you on your toes. And unlike some, I actually like that the game doesn't throw mountains of loot at you. I know Borderlands is kind of built on that but 95% of the stuff you pick up in those games is useless and gets chucked straight away. Destiny seems to give me stuff I might actually use.
