 ...sunova beach...

They need to just call this a new thing then. Ultra DS^3, UDS cubed, or just UDS (with Wii U, that makes sense actually).

...sigh..., I may get one... evvvveennttuuallllly.
But Nintendo will probably not profit from me on this one; I'd probably buy used and well after the fact.

It's going to take more than a Xenoblade port to sway me though. I want a brand new Metroidvania-style Zelda or something.

No surprise there, makes total sense. It's not handicapping the game, it's just another choice. Already people moaning about greed and getting whiny on various news posts around with comment sections. Ahh...bask in the entitlement. :)

I'm just glad it still will be playable on normal 2DS/3DS. But after Super Paper Mario jumped from Gamecube to Wii, I'm still a bit nervous.

It is perplexing to me why they can't add Circle Pad support though. Seems like it would be an easy feature to implement.
(but then, why add a feature that you can use to sell the newest thing? )

Being dissatisfied with a blatant disregard for practical retrocompatibility is not entitlement, it's common sense.

Stop all that common sense you're not entitled to it.

It's not really common sense, it's just something Nintendo and Sony have for years made people to get to comfy and expecting of, and this time around both pulled the rug out on people (New3DS and PS4) not running everything (n3ds) or anything old (ps4) you want.

You either go with it or not, it's not a mandatory purchase that life hinges upon so to me that is kind of entitlement. You feel entitled to having all you want in your game with the system you have, you're not getting it, and you're mad. You feel entitled to having circlepad support since it has the 2nd stick too, and Nintendo has no interest in it unfortunately and that's it.

Thing is a lot of people are going to buy the new 3ds anyways and they just tried a little persuasion of their own to make sure people upgrade especially if they want to truly play smash

Maybe that's what they want people to think.
But I had a blast playing Smash Bros Brawl with nothing more than a standard Wiimote (no analog, 2 buttons, 1 trigger). I'm sure the standard DS is more than capable to "truly play smash".

If one end of the spectrum is "Entitled", I feel like the other side is "Elitist".
Not sure what the center is called..., maybe just "Eh" :| .

Do you honestly think enabling Smash Bros. 3DS to support both the Circle Pad Pro or the C-Stick is a programming impossibility? As in, the game can't detect if it's running on a 3DS with the Circle Pad Pro, or if it's running on a C-Stick having New 3DS instead? Because I don't believe that. I believe Nintendo is obsolescing the Control Pad Pro on purpose, with total disregard to everyone who bothered to buy the ridiculous band aid in the first place. And then Nintendo is willing to sell people this, knowing full well the controls are purposefully limited.

I'd rather be entitled than an apologist any day.
