We all would have about 8 years ago. Not now, leave the main series alone Sega.
PSO in Nintendo DS now that I can get behind. Hopefully they keep it simple and make it PSO with a few extra's. No need to screw up the formula. My only question is how long are the levels? Kinda don't see myself playing this one out and about as a portable. Still awesome.

Quests seem to vary between 10 min to 40 min or so. Longer for the offline ones, because they have a lot of cutscenes and some FMVs. This is definitely the most offline-friendly PSO yet. It almost seems like it'd be worth it for offline-only, if it were in a bargain bin a few years from now. It has great graphics and interface for DS.gradualmeltdown wrote:We all would have about 8 years ago. Not now, leave the main series alone Sega.

Oye! With such glowing reviews from Mozgus and my previous lust for PSO (never had a system to play it on till recently, so I've always watched my friends) this game is a definite pick up for me... here's to hoping localization doesn't take more than 6 months!

I've been going around trying the most recommended WiFi DS games, and I still think that PS0 is the most technically impressive of the bunch. There's a surprising lack of online games for DS, and I think PS0 may be the only one that alerts you when friends come online.

Matchmaking has been enabled since it hit store shelves in japan finally. Like I figured it a bit more limited than playing with friends. You can filter by stage type and what I assume is difficulty (PSO veterans know that basically means filtering by lvl of players). The game seems to just throw a random quest at you and once you finish it, there's nothing left to do by use the stores/bank, then leave and matchmake again. It's a good last resort for playing with people, but I wish it gave you control of quest selection.

Coming to USA this winter '09. At least this has some reason for such a long translation period. Rhthym Tengoku DS has NO reason for the delay. All they have to do is translate the menus and the few subtitles in certain minigames. I fail to see how that is taking them a year to do. Someone will fan translate it before they do.

awesome. Kind of a weird time to announce a "winter" 2009 date right? Does that mean in the next couple months? I really doubt it I assume like you this is coming out next holiday season gaming glut.

Likely licensing issues are why it will take a while. All the US Donkey Konga games had different music from the JP versions and seeing how Rhythm Tengoku has "Tsunku-produce" music, they're probably gonna redo the music again "to better suit American tastes".Mozgus wrote:http://kotaku.com/5127411/phantasy-star-zero-heads-west

PSZ has a legitimate reason I suppose with a lot of text and such...
