Yeah but if you're buying on Amazon, by the time you tack on $3.99 shipping per game, well it doesn't take long to you're dropping $20 for shipping. That's marketplace sellers, of course, but dreamcast is going to be marketplace.SpoonyBard wrote:Their Dreamcast offerings are pretty impressive, but even their "sale" prices are over average. Looks appealing until you realize it's all disc only pricing. Anything rare/expensive is incredibly overpriced as are any of the flagship franchises.

Re: Lukie Games
It's definitely a convenience to get it immediately, to not have to pay shipping, to be able to inspect the item before paying and to have someone responsible if it doesn't work. It's definitely a valuable service, and one I don't mind paying a few more dollars for.
I feel you though, my "shop" in town hasn't got any new inventory in at least 6 months, for how much you want to support the places, sometimes you just can't. But if you're worried about overpriced stuff... Lukie doesn't seem to be a wonderful alternative.
The new stuff might be fine, but from what i've seen the pricing is pretty high. Most of the cheap DC stuff was at least $3-4 over going rate. No real savings there.

Re: Lukie Games
I bought a DC back in 2000, mostly for RE Code Veronica. I got the port of RE2 for the nightmare mode, TR Chronicles and NFL 2K1, an insanely fun football game. (I'm from Alabama...even the nerds are somewhat football fans in Alabama, cultural thing.) That was about it for my DC gaming. Still have it somewhere.
Nothing against the DC but as a survival horror fan I was better off with a PS2. Gotta go where the games are

Re: Lukie Games
It seems like the discussion has shifted towards something else, but I thought I'd share my experiences with Lukie Games.
I think I've ordered from them 5 times in total. The first three were great experiences. Everything I received was in pretty great condition.
Early last week, I bought a gray Saturn controller from them. It arrived with a tear in the wire jacket (is that the right term?) I took a picture of the tear and emailed it to them, telling them I needed to exchange it. They promptly refunded my money and let me keep the controller.
Late last week, I ordered 5 Genesis games from them. One game arrived with a dislodged battery. I did the same thing - I opened up the cart, took a picture of the dislodged battery, emailed it to them, and told them that I needed to exchange it. They told me that they couldn't accept it because it was opened. They have a "no questions asked", "no exceptions and no limitations" return policy, btw. Despite pointing that out (and making some other strong arguments) they still refuse to let me exchange it.
So now I'm stuck with it. It might actually be damaged beyond the battery thing since it was free to rattle around in there for who knows how long. Fuck em. Might shop exclusively here, from now on.
Oh, and the game arrived with a rental sticker on it. Another with some permanent marker on the cart, another with a fucked up label, and the other two with faded labels. I'm starting to think they just don't like Sega. (If that's true, really, fuck em!)

Not a big fan of Lukie games, they don't offer real pictures of their items on Ebay and I've had a few instances of games arriving in *garbage* condition. I understand they're a huge store, but I don't buy unless I can see what the item looks like.

Re: Lukie Games
My order arrived and was in great shape. Now as far as pics, I agree. If I'm going to buy a nice game that I love it had damn well better be in as perfect shape as possible. That's where Ebay wins for me.Retrogamer0001 wrote:Not a big fan of Lukie games, they don't offer real pictures of their items on Ebay and I've had a few instances of games arriving in *garbage* condition. There's no policy or refund system that can match getting actual pics and getting it right the first time.
