This is pretty bad. I have the hoodie, which is decent. This faux-leather jacket that's several shades of brown too dark, is not a great homage. It DOES however, give you the excuse to run around the town asking about sailors and driving forklifts.

It seems to have hipster skinny-itis too. I'm not an expert on Shenmue by any means but Ryo wears a nice chunky bomber style jacket. That's more like a Members Only skinny thing.

So good. If a fan can do that, I don't see why Sega can't be bothered. I mean, it's not like they disclose digital sales to anyone. If Sega was burned on rereleases of Nights into Dreams, Jet Grind Radio, etc, then perhaps that's why they're deterred from an HD release of Shenmue.
Wow, that looks great.

Typing of the Dead is hilarious fun in a "I can't believe I'm playing this" kind of way.

I found Dynamite Cop for $10 at a store and was pretty pleased with the find itself. Took it home and, wow I'm very disappointed. I liked the arcade game but the DC version is lackluster. I might be wrong but I swear the camera is way too close in comparison. More importantly, every time you clear a room (which is every minute or so it seems) your character just stands there for 5-10 seconds while the game loads the next scene. It completely breaks the pace of the game.

Another game that underwhelmed me was Gunbird 2. Love the art style and it's an okay shooter, but once you get past the Capcom veneer it's nothing special under the surface.

Gunbird 2 has no Capcom veneer, its a Psikyo game.

I thought the coin chaining, hidden gem pots, and blistering difficulty made the game quite special, but I can see how its appeal would be limited.

I can't. It really does have everything.

Increasing difficulty - check
Wildly different character options - check
Chaining - check
Awesome sprites - check
Hidden items - check
Great music - check
Hilarious "plot" - check

It is a game that takes seconds to learn and months (years) to master. Anyone can play this game. No two people will do it the same. You got it down, when you appear to be in pain.

I've played the arcade version, and the DC port is spot on. The reason the game waits for the next room is to let you pick up any of the items before they disappear. This also happened in Die Hard Arcade (the first game in the Dynamite Deka series). Camera issues were all there in the original. I like the bonus art gallery and of course that was one of the first games with some real DLC in the Detonator Pack (long gone for download, but available on a Dream Explorer ISO burn)

I thought dynamite cop was hilarious. Granted i played it coop and i think playing it solo wouldn't quite have the same level of charm . In every room we kept going "omg look how ridiculous this is".
Also really enjoyed gunbird. Hard as balls if you want it to be, plenty of options to get out of situations, but if you suck at the game, they won't help you (ie, shooting, bombs AND the "melee" attack).

Thirdly, really enjoyed typing of the dead. It's awesome coop as well, competitive+coop at the same time, similar to Zelda Four Swords. Solve the puzzles but fight over the points.

Outside of whats been mentioned i have been trying to get further and further into GunLord, it's such a fun game once you sit down and play through it for at least an hour. Plus tons of secrets to find. If you like Mega Turrican on the genesis, you owe it to yourself to try GunLord. It's a recent release by NG:Dev team.
