Me neither. Outside of a couple of airports in California and Washington, Texas and Illinois are the only states I've seen west of the Mississippi River.aaron wrote:i envy you both, i've never been.

Same here. I've been from FL to PA and everywhere in between as well as TN, MS, and AL, but LA (Louisianan not Los Angeles) is the furthest west I've been. I am dying to get out there one day, it looks like beautiful country.Ack wrote:Me neither. I've got roots in Rhode Island and Washington but they are on a side of the family we rarely converse with, much less visit.

Haha, actually I screwed up my geography there, Illinois is east of the Mississippi River. I just get confused because it has a major tributary we crossed over when heading there from Indiana.
Anyway, I've been to just about every state east of it, excepting Wisconsin and Michigan outside of an airport layover in Detroit for an hour. And I've been to Hawaii. I'd like to see them all some day.
And I've got distant cousins out in Kansas, but I don't really know them. My mother does, but they're a lot older, so I don't think of them much.

I would consider Hawaii to be a western state, even west of the Mississippi river.Ack wrote:Haha, actually I screwed up my geography there, Illinois is east of the Mississippi River. I just get confused because it has a major tributary we crossed over when heading there from Indiana.

Eh, I guess. I don't really associate it and Alaska with the lower 48 though.jp1 wrote:I would consider Hawaii to be a western state, even west of the Mississippi river.Ack wrote:Haha, actually I screwed up my geography there, Illinois is east of the Mississippi River. I certainly can't argue with that.Ack wrote:
