Romo deserves plenty of blame for key losses, but he's still one of the best inn the league in terms of those raw STATS which you claimed were so important in how you evaluate someone...Luke wrote:Excuses. Re: NFL 2014 Thread
I have no doubt that other teams not picking him up so far is at least partially about homophobia and/or fear of extra media attention and not strictly about his preseason performance. I think very few would argue otherwise, right? Where are all these people claiming his not getting picked up by another team is "all about football"?
Re: NFL 2014 Thread
Preseason, season, postseason STATS are different. Postseason stats are important, and romo sucks balls postseason, when it matters, when it means championships.dsheinem wrote:

You can shut your mouth, or continue to spill bile nonsense until romo does something other than fuck up during the playoffs.
Okay. That was jerky.
But "for reals" romo is terrible when it counts. Feel free to back up mediocrity, that was jerky too, but romo is not clutch. Never will be.
Here we go. Money. Always my buddy.
I bet you 1% of Romo's average salary over his tenure that he won't win a Super Bowl.
Game or Chicken?
...yes I know that technically Chicken is Game.

"6) Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys: The sight of Romo's name on a list of clutch performers will make some Cowboys fans cringe, but the three-time Pro Bowler doesn't get enough credit for coming through in crucial situations. Romo is one of the most efficient fourth-quarter quarterbacks, completing 69.6 percent of his passes and compiling a 105.6 passer rating in the final period last season. Critics, of course, will point out some memorable interceptions with the game on the line, but the fact that he has orchestrated 11 fourth-quarter comebacks in the past three seasons suggests that he routinely comes through for the Cowboys when it matters. Now, I know these truths won't absolve Romo from the harsh criticism of some unrealistic football fans, but this should shed some light on why NFL evaluators hold the quarterback in high regard as a clutch playmaker."
I cant believe you are making me defend Romo...

Re: NFL 2014 Thread
When people make absurd wagers to "back up" their point you can be pretty sure that they are fumbling to make good arguments.
You aren't talking about any stats at all at this point, you are talking about his performance in 4 games (2006, 2007, and two in 2009) where his QB rating is still in the 80s, which is mediocre not horrible and better than any QB's postseason rating from all of last year.
You aren't good at this, so just stop.

Quite the contrary, as I'm very good at "this" and much better than you.
You put your money where your mouth is or shut the fuck up. Ball is in your court pinwheel. It's as easy as "Put your money where your mouth is", so put your money (do it for charity) where your mouth is. "Absurd?" Nonsense.
How's bout it?
Cower all you want, I'll drop dime. Or many a dime. Love to place this bet for charity.
Re: NFL 2014 Thread
lol, no. gambling on shit like this - and especially at those amounts- is absurd.
I noticed you didn't counter with an argument, stats, etc.
And FWIW, "my mouth" never made any claims about Romo's future successes.

Re: NFL 2014 Thread
Lol at loaded bets. Especially ones that arent equivalent to the discussion.
The worst defense to win a SB allowed 360 points in the season. The Cowboys last year allowed 432.
Just the number of 32 teams a QB has a 1/32 chance of winning SB before you start factoring in schedule, roster, etc...

Dish and I just did not meet at a Sheetz station and did not make out while eating a fried chicken sandwiches topped with cheese sticks, jalapenos, and a marinara sauce.

So, these guys are better options than Tony Romo?
All opening day starters last season.
I'll bet you 3.37% of my neighbors' brothers toenail collection that if we go back every year of Romo's career, the list of starters every year of his career will look similar.
EDIT: why not, here's 2009:
I mean. Seriously.
