looking for a product similar to contact paper

Post by s8n »

hi members , im looking for a product very similar to ' contact paper ' for books or the stuff you put on mobile phones to protect the screen from scratches.

i need it on a roll about 1 metre long and 40cm wide any longer or wider is fine

i prefer the stuff for mobile phones or something similar as its easier to work with and can be removed easily unlike contact paper

My uncle is a helicopter mechanic and he uses a clear self-adhesive film that's the same as many screen protector materials (some advertise that they're the same stuff). He uses it to wrap the propeller blades to protect the finish. It comes in wide rolls kinda like duct-tape They call it "100 mile-an-hour tape"
I used some on my old PDAs. It's slightly stretchy - the adverts for the screen protector show it with a ball-point pen trying to push through and the material just conforming to the pen's 1" indentation.
I don't like the grip it gives to a stylus - more rubber feel than smooth glide.

Might be able to hook you up with a roll, or at least get you a product and brand name and number. It's probably free on my end...

Another alternative is inquiring directly to the screen protector manufacturers that advertise custom fit/skinning. I have bookmarks for some of them if you want links tho their prices would probably be ridiculous.
