Buying a Pandora battery
Buying a Pandora battery
I've played everything I want for my PSP and its collecting dust. I would like to mod it to run custom firmware. Can anyone recommend a trusted merchant to buy a Pandora battery? Sorry if this is repeat thread I looked and couldn't find the topic. Also does having a high firmware version matter when modding with the Pandora trick?
Re: Buying a Pandora battery

no worries- but a word of caution: I bought 2 R5s, and 3 M3 carts for the ds there and only one cartridge worked. I assume the pandoras work fine because i only bought one and that was enough.
Re: Buying a Pandora battery
hey, does that come with a magic stick? or you have to make your own?
There are 3 things I don't believe in, politics and math.
Re: Buying a Pandora battery
you make your own out of a memory stick pro duo. Its all part of the process.

This deal extreme site seems wonderful. Cheap accessories with free shipping. The fear that one gets what they pay for is the only thing stopping me from ordering.

Does having a high firmware version lock me out of custom firmware installation?

Make your own, you can make your battery into a pandora, use it to hack your PSP and then change it back to normal and continue using it as your PSP battery (if all goes to plan). I did this successfully using this guide - you can do this on any firmware. http://www.pspmod.com/forums/custom-fir ... -slim.html

I HIGHLY recommend using this guide when modding your PSP:

This is the guide I used, and I have to say, it couldn't be easier. It is very straight forward, and is never out of date (unlike a LOT of guides you can find on the internet).
Tip: You have to wipe out your memory stick when you mod your PSP (unless you have two). So if you wanna save your game data, just copy it to your hard drive then copy it back on the stick after its all done.
About the battery, I'd have to second the idea of modding your own. Here's what I did: I have a PSP Slim, so I hard modded my battery into a pandora, only permenantly. This is achieved by cutting a single connection on the battery's PCB. You can cut it, then reconnect it, but I just left mine as a Pandora.
Then I picked up the "extended life" battery. So since you would have to buy a battery anyway, why not end up with one that has a longer life? And then you also end up with a Pandora battery should you ever need one again.
Or, you can mod your battery then change it back, but the longer life battery kicks ass.
