I hit a few thrifts and a couple of pawn shops today. At one pawn shop I saw they had Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection for PSP behind glass. I've been after that one for a while. When I asked the staff if there was a price on it it showed $14.99, probably the absolute most I would have considered paying.
The staff said "It's been sitting for a while, the price may have changed." and proceeded to check something on the computer. I asked if that meant the price may have gone up he said it could have, but he'd give me the ticket price even if it had. After a moment he says "Five bucks."
Not the deal of the century, but a pleasant surprise.

Xbox Land Dead - $14.39 Ebay Shipped
Been wanting to try this game out, finally went online to find it. FPS shooting Zombies, now where is that Tool Shed key!
Xbox Ninja Gaiden Black - $7.00 BookOff
Have the regular version on the XBox, oooh I had to get the deluxe with extra stuff. Ninja Gaiden has had so many incarnations since the NES days, this version pretty decent.
Wii Pandoras Tower - $19.99 $17.99 Gamestop
Bought a while back forgot if I ever posted this or not. Interesting search of the towers (Ico inspired?), kill the monster, bring back prize to keep your princess from becoming a monster. I am finding similarity of the Xseed RPGs in the game, Xeonoblade anyone?

PS2 Splashdown Rides Gone Wild - $3.99 Goodwill
I bought part one a while back, realized this was the jet ski game Metal Jesus was raving about.
XBox Prince Persia Sands Time - $5.00 BookOff
XBox Prince Persia Warrior Within - $5.00 BookOff
Finally got two of them, I still need to pick up Two Thrones. Based on advice the Xbox version would have better graphics over Gamecube and PS2. This review helped me decide.
SNES Donkey Kong Country - $15.00 Ebay Shipped
Bought DK2 a while back, BookOff has both SNES DK1 and DK2 CIB Japanese versions, but I wanted the US version for reading all the dialog. Well worth getting this, still need DK3 and a another certain Zombie game.
Genesis Sonic 2 - $5.00 BookOff
That cart label put me off, almost looked like a bootleg the way the 2 is cut off. A Google search shows it seems legitimate, so went back and bought the game. I already have all the Sonics built inside my Genesis 80 Game PlugnPlay, got this for trying out the Knuckles expansion cart I have owned for a while to try the extra stuff.

Atari 5200 7800 Famicom Ballblazer
$5.00 Shipped from senseiman
A pink cartridge, what? This game is soooo cool on the older less known Atari consoles, a surprised there was an 8bit console import only US coded game version of it. Later renditions on the SNES and PS1 of BallBlazer lost the charm of the original in which the hover ship always faces the ball. The four direction facing due to memory limitation of the earlier systems worked as a hidden gem game play in this game.
I updated the Cart Cleaning Guide, adding this beautiful gem of a game to it.

Believe it or not the 5200 controller is perfect for Ball Blazer. The Famicom works well, but the DPad does not quite have the float control affect needed to move the ship around. Still a kick to play on the Nes Portable.
Anyone who has not played the older Atari version should really give this game a try somehow, maybe by emulation. Aha! The wheels are turning inside me for a rom emulation burn to Dreamcast, PS2 or Xbox and try a Flight or Arcade Stick on with Ball Blazer. Holy Crap, the similar named Blaze Twin Shock for two player action!

Xbox basically looks like the PC version at 640x480, so it's blurrier and not as high-res, but it features the same reflections, lighting, and softer shadows. As a benefit you can run it in progressive scan and widescreen. GCN and PS2 support progressive scan, but no widescreen. GCN and PS2 just don't hold up to Xbox or PC in the texture or effect department. But, interestingly, the PS2 does seem to be the only version that used the "heatwave effect" to refract nearby visuals. It's really not a needed or impressive effect, however.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
^ Maybe I'll pick up Splashdown Rides Gone Wild tonight. I think it's at the store near me for like $6. Thanks for the reminder. I played the original Splashdown and thought it was a lot of fun.
Sands of Time is so gooooooood.

This game is awesome. I beat it last year, and I wrote:
"I finally pushed through Pandora's Tower (Wii), and I received the "best" ending. The game is deeply flawed - and there is a very serious bug near the end of the game - but I nonetheless enjoyed it tremendously. Navigating the towers reminded me of Ico, and the combat was very engaging. Moreover, the bosses - and particularly the final boss - were great, and each encounter with one of the towers' masters was thrilling. Finally, the game has fantastic art direction and an engaging mythology. Thus - and despite some serious flaws - I highly recommend Pandora's Tower to anyone looking for an ARPG."
I think I was a bit hard on it at the time, and in retrospect, I consider it one of the best Wii games. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did (and that you miss the bug).
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I think Pandora's Tower is (or was for many months) $19.99 new on Amazon. The bug you speak of is easy to ignore if you just read the notes on it and don't save. Similar to the Metroid Other M bug that people were raging over. I never encountered it.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Had a grand morning at the garage sales. $35 total spent. I figured the mystery cart was Mario/Duck Hunt but to my surprise it was the black box Mario Bros. arcade game, which I don't have. Yay! Front 4 games are all CIB and in very good condition.

Ebay snag - $33 for both an Onyx GBA SP and Pokemon Ruby, both in excellent shape. My first purchase in a while!

Image Fight - NES - $5
Dragonfire - Atari - $1
At or below Ebay prices without shipping, so a win in my book.

Anyone else get in on the Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth: 1 Limited Edition earlier this morning? $57.99 and it sold out within 2-3 minutes, only 1000 made.
