We, well some of us, played Psychonauts for Together Retro this year, a game that came out less than ten years ago so I guess the PS2 is now officially retro. Break out the champagne!

Those stores will still be selling 360s for a couple of years I'd bet.

I agree that the PS2 is probably retro now, but that just feels weird to me because it is the most modern console I own. Though my laptop can crank out some decent graphics, I still love the look and feel of the PS2 on a CRT.

The dreamcast is considered retro and was released only a year before the PS2. However, PS2s were also being produced up until last year. But at the same time the PS3 is already old news. I'd say yes- the PS2 and the rest of sixth gen are officially retro.

The PS2 was the king of consoles bar none, but looking back at it today many of the games do not seem as grand and great as the used to be in 2005/06. Maybe because the PS3 games blew them out of the water.
Just compare GTA 5 to San Andreas, MGS 4 to MGS 3, and The Last of US to Max Payne.
