I had the same thought that perhaps a Brazilian company produced a licensed version like TecToy and the Sega Master System.
But I'm leaning towards pirate console. Here's an article I dug up on the Playtronic SNES with detailed pictures: http://www.snescentral.com/article.php?id=1017
As you can see it's pretty similar to a USA console with all the Nintendo-branded chips. The sticker on the back is also in Portuguese and says Playtronic.

Re: SNES with strange motherboard
I believe that this board is a counterfeit for sure now. But some things are still odd, the package of my SNES look original, also, the serial no. in the bottom of the console is a little different from the serial on the customer service letter (pictures below). That made me think:
[theory] Since the previous owner of my SNES was my uncle, i believe that maybe this console has already been repaired at a some repair shop around here (like 15 years ago or something). But instead of repair it, the bottom half of the console was replaced for another one with this board. No one would notice at that time, since the top half of the shell was the same. [/theory]
I will leave some photos of the box and console shell here for you guys to take a look:
customer proof of purchase letter (look at the serial number)
bottom half of the console (different serial)
top half of the console
closer look
front view (controller ports)
rear view (other ports)
expansion port
box front side view
box back side view
box side view (mario paint mouse ad)
box side view (super scope ad)
internal poster front side
internal poster back side (instructions)

Re: SNES with strange motherboard
The bottom is a fake too, at least the labels such as the serial number is as the font is totally off. The top sticker by the power switch, same thing, wrong font. The 800# sticker is wrong. There should be no sticker over the screw hole in the back. The box is entirely a pirate everywhere from the red fonts on everything on it. Placement of things is wrong on that box too. The back has Kirby's Special Tee Shot which is wrong and never sold that way. The sides don't make sense either, the pirates who did this wanted to advertise are the peripherals for the system. The poster looks like it should be legit, but they could have just run a copy of a real one as it's far easier than making a box.
Sorry but day one your uncle got chumped buying a pirate console in a pirate box.

My childhood is ruined
. Thanks for the analysis Tanooki, I will just sit and cry now...
Just kidding, even fake this console made me happy a lot of times. I will try to find a original SNES for sale here, and this time I will make sure to look all those details.
Thanks for you help guys.

This is interesting. I probably saw famicom in every shape and form : keyboards, famicom like clones, random boxes, playstation with cartridge slot, genesis with famicom slot, but as far as i recall i new saw pirated SNES.
Did somebody heard about them before?

Sorry for my engrish
Re: SNES with strange motherboard
Hah hey those fakes I think got a lot of people because I've seen them shown off and discussed before. The thing is for all the crap clones we have now that get audio and visuals wrong or issues with chipped games with the SNES, this rugged ripoff of yesteryear actually did the legit system justice. If it works it works, just hope he didn't pay legit retail on it back then.
Shoot you probably could sell it to a pirate/variant collector for a good little bit and get a real one with the money.
