Yesssss, let the anger flow through you...waitaminute, what's wrong with Code Veronica and Zero?Xeogred wrote:I can't contain my rage in the Resident Evil Revelations 2 thread.
Resident Evil Revelations is the most boring, lifeless, and personal least favorite Resident Evil game I've played. I would not hesitate to put RE6, RE5, Code Veronica, Zero, etc, above it. Yeah, even RE6. Least the combat was okay.

Absolutely nothing, I just know some fans don't care for them much. CV is near the bottom of the barrel for me, but still amazing in comparison.Sload Soap wrote:Yesssss, let the anger flow through you...waitaminute, what's wrong with Code Veronica and Zero?Xeogred wrote:I can't contain my rage in the Resident Evil Revelations 2 thread.

RE6 is legit average. But I just can't lie, I enjoyed it so much more than Revelations.

If you don't dig the characters, world, or sense of humor it's not going to be very fun or interesting.Sano wrote:I find Earth Bound boring...
Then again, similar could be said for most rpgs.

@Xeogred
Ah, okay then. I've never played Zero but I thought Code Veronica was pretty good and Steve's hilarious death was hilarious.

I agree with Xeogred, I don't think Code Veronica is as good as 1-3, and I don't particularly think 3 was as good as 1 and 2(and 2 is better than 1, which is the loneliest number that you'll ever do. 2 can be as bad as 1. It's the loneliest number since the number 1). After that, the series split off into a totally different direction. I actually quit playing the series after RE5.Sload Soap wrote:@Xeogred

You see, I tend to throw in all the spin-off type games like Outbreak and Gun Survivor when I think about the franchise on the whole, which is why calling out CV sounded odd to my ears/eyes.
That said, yeah Code Veronica is inferior to Resi's 1-4 and the Remake any day of the week.

Zero might even look better than REmake. If you dig the old formula, it's definitely worth a look. I'd put it above Code Veronica.
Another massive problem I have with this series is the buddy system it's been obsessed with. What's almost insulting is how amazing combinations such as Chris x Jill, or Leon x Ada/Clarie, etc, would be... but every single game makes sure we will never see those cool combos. Instead we continually get new and worse characters. That's one thing I'll put RER and RE6 on the same level about, introducing a bunch of new stupid lame characters.
What I would give to have another RE that only gives you one character and that's it...

Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
I guess I should explain my opinions on JRPGs. In my last post I simply called them boring and left it at that. When I wrote that post I was kind of tired and didn't feel like typing very much.
First of all, the gameplay. JRPG gameplay requires neither skill nor strategy. Attack, attack, fire spell, attack. Next turn: attack, attack, fire spell, healing spell. Rinse and repeat until you realize how stupid this is and shut the game off.
It seems that even the developers have realized how boring this is, so even if you liked the mind-numbing combat you have the rest of the game to contend with. It seems every one of these games has a terrible story that even the worst anime studio would reject, despite stories having no place in video games.
They're slooooow. Overly long battle animations and useless stories combine to eat up all of your time.
And now that I've pissed off the entire website, I might as well say that I hate Playstation controllers. The shape is uncomfortable, the sticks aren't very good, and the d-pad and flat-topped buttons murder my thumbs.
