The old Action Replay disc I picked up a while ago has the ability to unlock all NES games for Animal Crossing. Might be the easiest way to do it.alienjesus wrote:graffix_13 wrote:Anyone have Animal Crossing? Would a 9 year old girl like it?
Bonus (for me) is that it looks like it has a bunch of NES classic games I can unlock. My question on that is when you unlock the games can you play them from the initial start up menu? Or do you have to access them through actual Animal Crossing gameplay each time?
It is wonderful for people of all ages, although it is reading heavy, so if she has any issues there it's worth bearing that in mind.
NES games can be unlocked, but are rare and you won't find them very easily or quickly. They must always be accessed in game, they appear as a little NES console you can put in your house.
The best ways to get NES games are to win the monthly raffle (which requires saving up raffle tickets earned through shop purchases) and recieving one as a christmas present (which actually happens at christmas as the game plays out in real time). There used to be code generators where you could put characters names and town names in and choose an item and it swould generate a code you could give the shopkeeper to recieve it. If you can find one of these, it might be easiest for you to create your own character (each town can have up to 4!) and just give in a bunch of these codes to create your own NES collection.

Re: What's your gamecube library like?
Picked up some newer stuff recently. Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes, Wave Race Blue Storm, and Sonic Mega Collection. If anyone ever told me how much fun it is to collect for the Gamecube, I must have not been listening
It's real easy to find a lot of the stuff for it, most of it is complete and in good shape, including the manuals and discs, and even the prices aren't terribly high either.

Re: What's your gamecube library like?
Here's what I have. It's pretty hand picked and most of it was original purchases back in the day I've just kept around. I did get into imports though in recent times as it just worked out well.
Original Indigo Gamecube system from launch with original parts. Gameboy Player CIB, Memory Card 251 and a 59, and then a PAL formatted 251, and the Datel Freeloader v1.06. All the games listed below are entirely complete in very good to near mint condition.
- Chibi Robo
- Cubivore
- Defender
- Doshin the Giant (PAL)
- Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
- F-Zero GX
- Hudson Selection Vol. 2 - Star Soldier (JPN)
- Hudson Selection Vol. 3 - PC Genjin (Bonk's Adventure) (JPN)
- Ikaruga
- (The) Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
- (The) Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- (The) Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
- Luigi's Mansion
- Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
- Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
- Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
- Shikigami no Shiro II (Collector's Box w/Toy)(JPN)
- Skies of Arcadia Legends
- Star Fox Assault
- Star Wars Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- Tales of Symphonia
- Wave Race Blue Storm
Throughout the years, mostly when it was alive though, I think I've probably had upwards of 80-100 of the games but this is where it sits now a nice short list of excellent stuff.

Re: What's your gamecube library like?
Bumping this thread after nearly a year. Is anyone still collecting or playing games on the Gamecube? Other then the occasional Wii/Wii U/3DS game it's the only system I'm actively collecting for anymore. Over the past year prices have really shot up, $50 games are now $80-90 and $30 games are up to about $50 on the well known stuff. Even something like Ribbit
King is close to $20 plus it's getting even harder to find games in the wild.
I've recently picked up Skies of Arcadia, RE Code Veronica X and some other stuff though I'm still trying to find a decent priced Gauntlet and Baton Kaitos Origins. I'm also looking for an Intec Screen, a Gamecube Kiosk, and Interactice Demo Discs plus more games and controllers. I also want to add a region switch modded Gamecube.
Anyone got any good stories or ongoing collecting/gaming goals? What are you still looking for?

Re: What's your gamecube library like?
I'm up to 63 games now in about 3 years of collecting.
I'm looking to finish up the RE series. I've only got 1 and Zero from an RB member recently, so that's 4 more games to go there. I'd also like to find Midway Arcade Treasures 1 & 3 to go along with MAT2.
I'm also looking for more racing/driving games. One in particular called City Racer; it was at my local game store not too long ago but they were charging at least $10 more than what I can get it for online.
Currently playing Mega Man X Collection for Together Retro, Mario Kart Double Dash, Gauntlet Dark Legacy and Smuggler's Run Warzones.

Re: What's your gamecube library like?
Finerion cut me a nice deal on Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life the other day but other then that I haven't picked up much GC stuff in the last few months. The local pawns have about 10 GC out of the probably 1-2k games they have, but they are either junk titles or have discs that are so scratched up I wouldn't even try resurfacing them.
I'm at 63 as well.ExedExes wrote:I'm up to 63 games
Re: What's your gamecube library like?
I'm down to 13/16 of what I want total:
F-Zero GX
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Luigi’s Mansion
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc [still missing]
Skies of Arcadia Legends [still missing]
Soul Calibur II
Star Wars: Rogue Leader
Tales of Symphonia
Tetris Worlds
Viewtiful Joe
Viewtiful Joe 2
Wave Race: Blue Storm
Honestly, if it weren't for Metroid Prime, I would have sold the GCN off already.

Re: What's your gamecube library like?
The Gamecube was my console of choice growing up. If I had an infinite supply of money and time, I would be attempting to complete the collection down to the peripheral. I love the games, I love the console, I love the accessories and the design of the controller.
My collection is a mishmash of titles, I'm still missing a few essentials like Twilight Princess, Fire Emblem, and the first Pikmin game, but for the most part I have a slew of titles I enjoy playing at anytime.
Really want to go back and play Metroid Prime again, same with Star Fox Assault which I have a very deep love for, and hope the Wii U Star Fox emulates with SIGNIFICANTLY enhanced controls, assuming of course people aren't soured by on-foot missions themselves. Since I've been on an RPG kick, I would like to give Skies of Arcadia another playthrough as I haven't actually played through the Gamecube version completely, as well as Paper Mario, which I haven't 100%'d as I did the original.

Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)
Re: What's your gamecube library like?
I'm just going to list the Gamecube games currently in my collection that I have actually given some decent gaming time (as listing them all would be embarrassing, mostly to myself).
In random order:
Ikaruga
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
Soul Calibur II
Phantasy Star Online Episode I & 2 Plus
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Mega Man X Collection
Metroid Prime
Sonic Adventure DX
Sonic Gems Collection
Midway Arcade Treasures 2
Intellivision Lives!
...and maybe:
Capcom Vs. SNK 2 (the controllers aren't well suited for it, and I have it for Xbox and PS2, but it makes a good handicap for me against the kiddos while they use "EO" control
; also, I owned it for GC first)
a little bit of Lego Star Wars
Sonic Classics Collection too, if you count enjoying the extras more than the games (Yes, I DO love the games, you don't even know, but usually end up playing them on actual hardware or an emulator, as opposed to devoting Gamecube time to it).
Star Wars Rouge Squadron III: Rebel Strike (tried out the RSII mission Co-Op with a friend briefly, and just HAD to use codes to unlock and play the classic arcades
)
X-Men Legends (I just can't get into this game for reasons I don't understand. I should LOVE this game! *Sigh*, One day...)
There have been a few other games I've more or less sampled, but my backlog is fairly large here.

Re: What's your gamecube library like?
I'm still picking up the odd Gamecube game here and there. This year so far I've grabbed 3 - Lost Kingdoms 2, 1080 Avalanche and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. The only reason I don't buy more Gamecube games is that most of my big wants for the system I picked up already, mostly when it was still current. That's not to say there's not plenty more to play for the system, just that when I'm looking to buy games, it's not normally my first choice as I have most of what I want.
Here are some of big wantsI'm still looking for for the Gamecube:
Kirby Air Ride
Lost Kingdoms
Doshin the Giant
Baten Kaitos
Luigi's Mansion
There's plenty of other stuff I'd pick up in the wild at a good price, but those are the ones I'm actively looking for. I really do just need to buy Lost Kingdoms already, it's dirt cheap.
According to my backloggery, I have 45 games for the system so far.
