What redeems Pit Fighter (SNES)?
That it teaches us how not to make a port.

Seriously though, Pit Fighter itself is not an awful game. But this port shows just how badly a game can be botched.

That said, I do like that there is a pseudo-difficulty built in based on character selection at the start of the game for the SNES port. The martial artist is the easiest to play as, while the wrestler is the hardest, thus making the game automatically harder by selecting him.

The fact that it can be completed in less than 10 minutes? That means you can play something better!

As far as JRPGs go, I find that the best retro ones are faster-paced, more streamlined, and oftentimes even shorter than today's average action-adventure title.

Chrono Trigger is a good example of this. It's actually quite short, it's very streamlined and straight forward in terms of gameplay and plot even with the crisscrossing of time travel, and combat is a breeze, even during some of the most grueling of fights.

There are a few where I don't think this is quite the case in the 16-bit era(7th Saga doesn't feel faster-paced due to its difficulty, and Breath of Fire II slogs due to the high encounter rate), but for the most part, stuff like Final Fantasy IV, Lufia II, and Breath of Fire do kind of breeze past.

Throwing more opinions down.

Most comfortable controller ever created? Wii remote & Nunchuk. I seriously think that game controllers are horribly designed and are missing out on some awesome button configurations. Even the Wii Remote and nunchuk don't have it totally right. We seem to think that buttons need to be pressed with thumbs...when they are actually the worst digit to press with.

Take a look at FPS games on consoles...rarely do the face buttons get used and even then, they are incredibly uncomfortable. Why is that? Because modern controllers are designed horribly.

Anyone want to help me make the perfect controller? :P

There are plenty of different control options. You can use the right analog stick, or just the face buttons.

The NBA 2K series is flat-out amazing.

I can't contain my rage in the Resident Evil Revelations 2 thread.

Resident Evil Revelations is the most boring, lifeless, and personal least favorite Resident Evil game I've played. I would not hesitate to put RE6, RE5, Code Veronica, Zero, etc, above it. Yeah, even RE6. Least the combat was okay.
