On Tori Amos' current tour, she has a section of each show called the "Lizard Lounge" where she plays people's requests for cover songs from before the show. Here's a few good ones.

Radiohead's "Creep"

Nine Inch Nails' "Something I Can Never Have"

Bjork's "Hyperballad"

So, I just discovered Aphex Twin the other day, and all I can say is WHY DID I NOT HEAR THIS SOONER?!?! Both Selected Ambient Works 85-92 and Selected Ambient Works Vol. 2 are absolutely incredible works of electronic music that doesn't just rely on pop vocals or a drop to draw people in. The eeriness of the atmosphere on every track is unreal, and I got mad Endtroducing vibes off both albums. In short, CHECK THEM OUT!!!!!!!
Systems owned: Odyssey, Commodore 64, Apple II+, Intellivision II, Atari 2600, Leisurevision, Atari 400, Vectrex, Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, Turbografx-16, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii U, PS1, PS2, PS3.

Richard also has tons of projects under other names too. See the 'Aliases' section.

Everyone here likes Aphex Twin. I think everyone in general does. They (well, him, actually) is just universally good or something.

SAW II is my fave album. If I had to pick the best track...

Maybe if you compare their entire discographies on the whole, but I think Aphex Twin at his best is a notch above Squarepusher at his best. I love them both though. I also consider Amon Tobin and Venetian Snares to be among their ranks.

I put this image together years ago of my 5 favorite men and 5 favorite women in music. It still pretty much holds true today, though I might work Florence and the Machine into the female side.

I've been listening to PJ Harvey - Rid of Me a lot this past month.

After the recent FAILURE reunion - I've also been rocking Magnified really loud.

I just listened to To Bring You My Love the other day! I hadn't listened to it in years and had forgotten how much I love that album. It's so dark, desolate, powerful, and passionate. I like her old stuff so much more than her new stuff. In her new material, she tends to sing in a disturbed breathy voice or like a tormented song bird, but I like her most when her vocals are full of power and desire and she comes riding fast like a phoenix out of fire flames.
